Filter by:A non-myeloablative treatment strategy and uniform selection criteria will enable patients with a variety of low grade B-Cell malignancies to attain long term disease control without unacceptably high treatment related mortality.
The purpose of this study is to compare the effects (good and bad) of the medication basiliximab in combination with cyclosporine with cyclosporine alone for the prevention of graft-versus-host disease. This research is being done because there is no completely safe and effective prevention for graft-versus-host disease. It is known that cyclosporine helps with GVHD but we would like to know if the addition of basiliximab will decrease the incidence and/or severity of GVHD after a transplant known as nonmyeloablative ("mini" transplant).
The first part of the study is to evaluate and determine if three different forms of MGCD0103 (free base FB-MGCD0103, tartaric acid free base [TA-FB-MGCD0103], and dihydrobromide [2HBr] salt formulation MGCD0103) have the same properties when given to patients with cancer. The second part of the study is to determine whether MGCD0103 administered in combination with azacitidine is effective and safe in treating subjects with relapsed or refractory Hodgkin's lymphoma or non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) (follicular or diffuse large B-cell [DLBCL]).
Obatoclax may stop the growth of non-Hodgkin lymphoma by blocking blood flow to the cancer. Bortezomib and obatoclax may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving obatoclax together with bortezomib may kill more cancer cells. This phase I/II trial is studying the side effects and best dose of obatoclax when given together with bortezomib and to see how well they work in treating patients with aggressive relapsed or recurrent non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
This is a pilot study designed to evaluate the safety and feasibility of performing umbilical cord blood transplants in adults with high-risk hematopoietic malignancies. A novel myeloablative preparative regimen will be used. One, up to a maximum of three cord blood units will be administered to facilitate engraftment.
FR901228 may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell to grow and by blocking blood flow to the cancer. This phase II trial is studying how well FR901228 works in treating patients with relapsed or refractory non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of giving PDX101 together with 17-AAG in treating patients with metastatic or unresectable solid tumors or lymphoma. PDX101 may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth and by blocking blood flow to the cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as 17-N-allylamino-17-demethoxygeldanamycin (17-AAG), work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving PXD101 together with 17-AAG may kill more cancer cells.
This phase I/II trial is studying the side effects and best dose of fenretinide and to see how well it works when given together with rituximab in treating patients with B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as fenretinide, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Monoclonal antibodies, such as rituximab, can block cancer growth in different ways. Some find cancer cells and kill them or carry cancer-killing substances to them. Others interfere with the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Giving fenretinide together with rituximab may kill more cancer cells.
Phase 2 study, conducted in patients with Hodgkin's disease, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, multiple myeloma, or mantle cell lymphoma undergoing high-dose chemotherapy and autologous stem cell transplantation.
This study is being done in order to determine the effectiveness of the combination of fludarabine, mitoxantrone, and rituximab in patients with mantle cell lymphoma. All three drugs,fludarabine, mitoxantrone, and rituximab have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)for the treatment of certain types of lymphoma. Rituximab is a drug (called a monoclonal antibody) which has anti-tumor activity on certain types of lymphoma. The combination of chemotherapy (fludarabine and mitoxantrone) with rituximab has not yet been investigated in patients with mantle cell lymphoma and therefore the combination in investigational.
