NCT ID: NCT00532688 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Kidney Failure, Chronic

N-Acetylcysteine in Heart Failure With Coexistent Chronic Renal Failure

Start date: September 2007
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Treatment with n-acetylcysteine in patients with heart failure and chronic renal failure leads to improvements in vascular function and in renal function.

NCT ID: NCT00528788 Completed - Clinical trials for Kidney Failure, Chronic

How Vitamin D Analogues Affect Endothelial Cells in Patients on Dialysis

Start date: September 2007
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Patients with chronic kidney disease and end stage renal disease have greater cardiovascular risk than the general population. Vitamin D analogues have been shown in observational studies to have mortality benefit for these patients. This study is designed to investigate doxercalciferol's effect on the vasculature (i.e. endothelial cell function) as a possible mechanism to explain the mortality benefit.

NCT ID: NCT00526747 Completed - Anemia Clinical Trials

Erythropoietin Resistance in Anemia of Chronic Kidney Disease

Start date: August 2007
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Our goal of this pilot project is to identify inflammatory biomarkers that correlate with epo-resistance among CKD patients.

NCT ID: NCT00522756 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Kidney Failure, Acute

Preventing Acute Renal Failure After Cardiac Surgery in High Risk Patients Using Sodium Bicarbonate Therapy

PARACHUTE
Start date: May 2006
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether sodium bicarbonate is effective in reducing kidney injury that may occur during cardiac surgery.

NCT ID: NCT00514813 Terminated - Anemia Clinical Trials

Dynepo Long-Term Safety Study

Start date: June 6, 2007
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

To assess the incidence rate of Treatment Emergent Adverse Events (TEAEs) over 2 years in patients treated with Dynepo.

NCT ID: NCT00497926 Terminated - Kidney Failure Clinical Trials

Induction of Donor Specific Tolerance in Recipients of Living Kidney Allografts by Donor FCRx Infusion

Start date: March 2008
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

An open-label study to assess the safety, efficacy, and tolerance of FCRx cell therapy in adult recipients within 12 months after kidney transplantation from a living donor.

NCT ID: NCT00493194 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Kidney Failure, Chronic

Fibrosis in Renal Allografts

Start date: May 2005
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This prospective, randomized study, comparing sirolimus to cyclosporine in renal transplant recipients, has two major objectives: 1. -To determine the incidence and the degree of interstitialfibrosis and arteriosclerosis, as wel as the glomerular volume in protocol biopsies at 6 months in sirolimus-and in cyclosporine-treated renal allograft recipients, by means of quantitative computerized image analysis. - To determine the prognostic implication of these morphologic changes. 2. To study the expression of genes, involved in inflammation and fibrosis, in protocol biopsies at 6 months in sirolimus-and cyclosporine-treated renal allograft recipients.

NCT ID: NCT00492362 Completed - Clinical trials for Kidney Failure, Chronic

Trial of Aerobic Exercise in Patients Undergoing Outpatient Hemodialysis

Start date: July 2007
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Randomized controlled trial comparing effects of ergometer exercise during hemodialysis to effects of pedometer use outside of hemodialysis on exercise capacity, functional status, quality of life and adequacy of hemodialysis.
