Bacterial Microleakage and Bone Loss in Internal Connection Dental Implants Based on the Type of Abutment Used in Zirconia Partial Fixed Prosthesis: in Vivo Study

Start date: February 26, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This clinical trial aims to observe if there are differences in bacterial micro-filtration on interfaces and to evaluate if there are differences in the occurrence of peri-implant diseases and bone loss in fixed partial monolithic zirconia CAD/CAM implantsupported prostheses with and without abutment in patients at the Advanced Implant Prosthetics Clinic of the Complutense University of Madrid, of both sexes, over 18 years of age, whose treatment plan is based on the replacement of dental pieces with two fixed partial dentures on implants, in such a way that the study will be performed "split mouth" rehabilitating one of them with zirconia bridges on attachments with connection and others with Zirconia bridges with flat attachments or without connection. The main question it aims to answer is whether the not use of abutment influence bacterial micro-leakage and the development of peri-implant diseases and bone loss at that level in fixed partial monolithic zirconia CAD/CAM prothesis. Participants will: - Receive two fixed partial monolithic zirconia CAD/CAM prothesis, one will be attached to an abutment (control group) and the other not (test group) - Subsequently, control appointments of the fixed implant supported prosthesis treatment will be performed (1, 3,6, 12 and 24 months) and radiographies will be made with the parallelizing device attached by the silicone key. Researchers will compare fixed partial monolithic zirconia CAD/CAM implant-supported prostheses with and without abutment to see: - Differences in bacterial micro-leakage on interfaces. - Occurrence of peri-implant diseases and bone loss

Osseodensification Versus Conventional Drilling for Implant Site Preparation

Start date: September 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

A total of 34 participants, who require replacement of an anterior or posterior single tooth with dental implant, will be randomly allocated to two equal sized groups. In the control group, the osteotomy site preparation will be prepared by using conventional surgical drills, while the test group site preparation will involve the use of Densah™ Burs (Versah Co., LLC., USA) as per the osseodensification protocol. In addition to evaluating implant stability, the trial will also report on implant and patient outcomes at various time points.

Multicenter Study to Evaluate the Clinical Outcome of PrimeTaper EV Implant in Single Tooth Restorations

Start date: May 3, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical outcome of implant survival of the PrimeTaper EV implant in single tooth restorations 1 year after permanent restoration.

Fully Guided Versus Conventionally Guided Implant Placement by Dental Students

Start date: September 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Patients where placement of a single implant will be treated by senior dental students under close supervision of experienced spcialists. All implant treeatments will be categorized as "straight forward"according to the SAC classification. The patients will be randomized to have the implants placed using a fully guided or a convetionally guided protocol. Outcome parameters include accuracy of implant placement compared to an ideal implant position, patient- and student-reported outcome.

Prospective Neodent® Zirconia System Study

Start date: September 10, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The Neodent® Zirconia Implant is designed for the treatment of oral endosteal implantation for the functional and aesthetic rehabilitation, allowing for treatment of patients with different bone qualities. The objective of the study is to assess the success and survival rates of implantable devices of the Zirconia System, in order to confirm the long-term safety and clinical performance of implants and abutments of the Zirconia System in daily dental practice setting. Devices will be used according to standard routine in daily practice, according to manufacturer indications in the IFU. Patients will be followed for 36 months after implant placement.

Implant Retained Rehabilitation With Surgical and Prosthetic Digital Workflow

Start date: September 2, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is to prospectively collect clinical data to confirm the safety and clinical performance of Neodent Titanium Base Abutment and Pro PEEK Abutment in daily dental practice setting, by means of a randomized clinical study of prosthetic rehabilitation using these devices. A total of 48 healed implant sites (at least 4 months post-extraction) shall be included during the sample enrollment (24 patients), which will be randomly divided into two groups, so that each patient receives one implant from each group (removal and non-removal of the abutment placed at the time of surgery). Patients will be followed for 24 months after implant loading. It is expected that there is no difference in peri-implant bone level change between the two treatment groups.

A Clinical Study on Acuris™ - Conometric Concept for Single Tooth Restoration

Start date: July 30, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the outcome of prosthetic survival of the Acuris conometric concept 1 year after permanent restoration, since this is a new mode of retention using friction for seating the crown of single tooth restorations without using cement or screws.

Immediate Loading of Implants in the Partially or Completely Edentulous Jaw

IMLOAD
Start date: December 2015
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The investigators aim to evaluate the biological and mechanical short- and long-term outcome of IL in partially or completely edentulous patients. Moreover, the investigators aim to detect potential influencing risk factors predicting undesirable prosthetic outcome.

Comparison Between Cobalt-chromium Partial Dentures and Thermoplastic Partial Dentures

Flex
Start date: February 2012
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The cobalt-chromium (CoCr) partial denture has been made for a long period. It respects biomechanical principles, providing harmony between mechanical and biological activities. The fundamental principles of biomechanics applied in the manufacture of steel structure are: retention, reciprocity, attachment and stability. To get the proper planning, we need to assess the dental support system, with its qualitative and quantitative values. But conventional dentures has a inherent problem which is the metallic elements apparent and in some cases the stiffness of the component support elements that generates stress. The Thermoplastic partial dentures increase aesthetics in replacement of metal structures in oral rehabilitation. So many treatments are being done in everyday practice without a defined concept on various aspects of its construction and oral applicability. This trial aims to assess the basic parameters of both dentures in: nutrition, speech therapy, chewing force, chewing efficiency and quality of life. 60 years old or older patients who require removable prosthesis. These will be randomly selected for the fabrication and installation of removable partial dentures (Gold Standard - control group - CoCr partial denture) and thermoplastic partial denture(experimental group). Before beginning the work, selected patients will make some preliminary tests such as controlling the individual condition, they are: - three questionnaires: - instrument for assessing quality of life related to oral health, GOHAI - General Oral Health Assessment Index of Atchinson & Dolan - instrument for assessing the social and economic profile of ABEP (Brazilian Association of Research Companies) CCEB 2011; - Instrument for assessing cognitive condition MINI-MENTAL; - Speech evaluation - Nutritional assessment; - Evaluation of masticatory efficiency and - Chewing strength. After preliminary assessments patients will be subjected to treatments for manufacture of partial dentures. After the installation (end of the technical construction of the dentures) and the adjustments appointment the tests will be repeated and in successive control periods of 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months and 24 months respectively, when the tests will do again now to see if there was a change in the initial condition.
