Filter by:The COVID-19 pandemic has led to initial concerns for patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease treated with immunosuppressive drugs, as they could be theoretically exposed to a higher risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection and/or severe forms of COVID-19. Although initial studies have not shown an increased risk of developing SARS-CoV-2 disease related to immunosuppressive therapy, robust data are not yet available to allow for risk stratification. In this regard, the availability of vaccines represents a cornerstone in the management of the pandemic. Unfortunately, patients on immunosuppressive drugs have largely been excluded from the trials of COVID-19 vaccines, creating potential concerns regarding the validity of their efficacy for IBD patients treated with immunosuppressive agents.
1. Evaluation of cardiovascular changes using Doppler echocardiography and cardiac MRI in IBD patients 2. To detect the frequency of myocardial injury in IBD patients 3. To detect the sensitivity and specificity of echocardiography for the detection of cardiac injury in comparison to cardiac MRI in IBD patients
Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs), including Crohn's disease (CD), ulcerative colitis (UC) and IBD-unclassified (IBD-U), are characterised by chronic inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. Over the past 50 years, the incidence of IBD has increased globally, with the highest increase in industrialised countries. During the last 25 years, the incidence of IBD has increased dramatically among teenagers in northern France, with an increase of 126% and 156% for CD and UC, respectively. Physical fitness is a set of attributes related to a person's ability to perform physical activities that require aerobic capacity, endurance, strength or flexibility and is determined by a combination of regular physical activity and genetically inherited ability. Physical fitness, widely recognised as an important health determinant, plays an important role in growth and development. Due to the evidence-based importance of physical fitness for young people's health status, attention should be paid to the assessment of physical fitness at these ages and whatever the health status. At this time, there is no study on the assessment of physical fitness in IBD pediatric patient.
Hepatobilliary manifestations as extraintestinal manifestations of IBD are sometimes underdiagnosed which can impair patient prognosis
Bronchopulmonary manifestations signs and symptoms are variable extraintestinal manifestations of IBD.
Detection of Inflammatory Bowel Disease activity by Using new measure : Neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio
1. Assessment of nutritional status among patients with inflammatory bowel disease using different nutritional assessment tools. 2. Assessment of correlation between nutritional status and disease severity. 3. Assessment of the impact of the Mediterranean diet on the nutritional status of the patients after 3 months.
Dysfunction and intestinal endocrine dysfunction. This project will use genomics, metabonomics, microbiome and other omics techniques to study the clinical pathway of CID integrated therapy.
The SBS NEEDS Study is a qualitative transversal study aiming to describe and understand the needs and knowledge of patients with Chronic Intestinal Failure as well as the representations of their practitioners Chronic Intestinal Failure (CIF) is the long-lasting reduction of gut function, below the minimum necessary for the absorption of macronutrients and/or water and electrolytes, such that intravenous supplementation is required to maintain health and/or growth. CIF is the rarest organ failure. Home parenteral nutrition (HPN) is the primary treatment for CIF. Semi-structured interviews will be conducted with patients in two nutrition unit and specialized in the small bowel diseases in two French region. 20 situations will be included. After analysing the data of the individual interviews, focus groups will be conducted with health professionals from an accredited home parenteral nutrition department.
Aim of the study is to determine the prevelance of subclinical cardiac involvement in patients with inflamatory bowel disease.
