NCT ID: NCT03526796 Not yet recruiting - Pouchitis Clinical Trials

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Antibiotic Refractory Pouchitis

HBOT-pouch
Start date: June 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of current study is to evaluate the effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for the treatment of chronic antibiotic-refractory pouchitis.

NCT ID: NCT03339037 Terminated - Clinical trials for Traumatic Brain Injury

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Effect on Post Concussion Syndrome in Children

TBIPED
Start date: November 1, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Due its high incidence, mTBI and its consequences of PPCS are a major public health issue. There is no consensus regarding the treatment of PPCS in pediatrics. Relying on its results in adults, HBOT offers a promising new direction of treatment, which targets the basic pathological processes responsible for post-concussion symptoms. The effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in pediatric TBI has never been evaluated. The aim of the current study is to evaluate in a prospective cross-over, randomized study, the effect of HBOT on children with PPCS due to mild TBI.

NCT ID: NCT03144206 Recruiting - Sarcoma Clinical Trials

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Soft Tissue Sarcoma Pilot Study

Start date: October 19, 2017
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

A parallel-group randomized pilot trial at a single institution (Duke University) on the effect of postoperative hyperbaric oxygen therapy on wound healing in patients with soft tissue sarcoma undergoing surgical resection with neo-adjuvant radiation therapy.. Participants will be allocated to either the treatment group (HBOT) or control (standard of care) by computer-generated randomization, stratified by tumor size (≤10cm and >10cm). An unequal randomization of 2:1 will be utilized to provide experience prescribing HBOT to more patients.

NCT ID: NCT02619383 Completed - Clinical trials for Erectile Dysfunction

HBOT Application in Erectile Dysfunction

HBOTED
Start date: June 2013
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

Recent studies have shown that hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) can induce angiogenesis and improve impaired organ function. HBOT was also recently suggested as a possible therapy for ED due to surgical injuries. However, the effect of HBOT on non-surgical related ED has not been investigated to date. The objective in this study was to assess the effect of HBOT on patients with ED by means of sexual function questionnaires and novel imaging techniques.

NCT ID: NCT02452619 Enrolling by invitation - Clinical trials for Mild Cognitive Impairment

MRI Brain Changes Induced by Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in Brain Injury Patients

Start date: March 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

In our institute there is ongoing treatment of brain injury patients with Hyperbaric oxygen therapy. These patients undergo neuro-cognitive function tests in addition to brain imaging studies before and after treatment. The aim of this study was to evaluate the perfusion and microstructure changes seen in MRI in addition to the cognitive tests before and after the treatment.

NCT ID: NCT01365780 Suspended - Clinical trials for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in Distal Radius Fractures: Can it Shorten Recovery Time and Increase Fracture Healing?

HBOTRadius
Start date: September 2011
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This project is meant to show wether the HBOT can fasten the recovery process after surgical treatment of distal Radius fractures. For this propose the microcirculation is measured, together with the level of pain on a visual analog scale (VAS) and the remaining force of the hand after surgery is examined. Furthermore the sonography with contrast medium which is long established for examination of organs of the parenchyma, is meant to be verified at the muscular-skeletal system in this project.
