ACE Acetabular Cup UK Multi-centre PMCF Study

Start date: November 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

A total hip replacement is one of the most successful and cost-effective surgical procedures in orthopaedics, and involves replacing both the hip ball and socket. Its goal is to provide pain relief, allowing the person to return to a normal lifestyle. JRI Orthopaedics have developed the ACE Acetabular Cup System, which has a H-A.C. coating to promote ossoeintegration of the device within the host bone. To increase the surgeons choice and thus suitability for the patient, there is the option of 3 different socket liners (ceramic, polymer or dual mobility). To ensure maximum safety and performance of medical devices surveillance of the device should be carried out over the devices lifetime. This study is a 10 year surveillance study to assess the clinical, functional and radiological outcomes of the CE-marked ACE Acetabular Cup System. This is done by examining patient outcomes through questionnaires, reviews of X-rays and complications by patients who have received a total hip replacement using the ACE Acetabular Cup System at participating sites.

NCT ID: NCT04093739 Withdrawn - Hip Fractures Clinical Trials

MDR - G7 Neutral and G7 Freedom Constrained Neutral Acetabular Liners

Start date: April 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The objective of this consecutive series PMCF study is to collect data confirming safety, performance and clinical benefits of the G7 Freedom Constrained Liners when used for primary and revision total hip arthroplasty (implants and instrumentation) at 5 years follow-up. Since G7 Acetabular Cup System has only been on the market since 2015, a prospective follow-up will be necessary to obtain data for the 5 year post-surgery time-point for each patient.

NCT ID: NCT04028687 Recruiting - Hip Fractures Clinical Trials

MDR - PMCF Study for Taperloc Complete Stems

Start date: February 13, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The objective of this consecutive series PMCF study is to collect data confirming safety, performance, and clinical benefits of the Taperloc Complete stems when used for primary or revision total hip arthroplasty (implants) at 1,3,5,7 and 10-year follow-up*. Since Taperloc Complete was introduced to the EU in 2010, all available retrospective data will be collected from each patient and a prospective aspect to the study will be necessary to reach the 10-year time point.

NCT ID: NCT04027140 Recruiting - Hip Fractures Clinical Trials

MDR - M/L Taper With Kinectiv Technology Stems and Necks

Start date: January 22, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The objective of this consecutive series PMCF study is to collect data confirming safety, performance and clinical benefits of the M/L Taper with Kinectiv Technology Stems and Necks when used for primary or revision total hip arthroplasty (implants) at 1,2,5 and 10-year follow-up*. ML Taper with Kinectiv Technology has been on the market since 2008, but has insufficient long term clinical data. Therefore, a prospective aspect to the study will be necessary to reach the 10-year time point.

NCT ID: NCT03663270 Completed - Surgery Clinical Trials

Hypotension Probability Index in Anesthesia

Start date: June 22, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of the study is to investigate the value of the Hypotension Probability Index in reducing intraoperative hypotension in patients with primary hip replacement. The measurement of the blood pressure was and is of great interest for the treating physician/anesthesiologist to optimize the peri- and postoperative patients outcome. The non-invasive measurement can scale the blood pressure but not from heartbeat-to-heartbeat, what results in a loss of information. The invasive measurement by a placed catheter in an artery shows the blood pressure with information about the pulse wave form, the ascending angle, and makes it possible to detect hemodynamic changes in a way the non-invasive blood pressure measurement is lacking. The additional informations of the monitoring and a

NCT ID: NCT03550014 Completed - Low Back Pain Clinical Trials

Effectiveness of Physical Therapy Interventions for Low Back Pain Targeting the Low Back Only or Low Back Plus Hips

Start date: July 2, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Low back pain (LBP) is the leading cause of disability worldwide and has substantial impacts on pain and function for an individual. Some individuals with LBP seek physical therapy for their condition. The purpose of the study is to determine whether individuals with LBP have improved pain and disability following physical therapy targeting either the low back only or low back plus hip(s).

NCT ID: NCT03450733 Completed - Osteoarthritis, Hip Clinical Trials

Wright Medical Technology Metal-on-Metal 522 Post-Market Surveillance Study

Start date: April 11, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study is in response to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) call to all manufacturers with 510(k) clearance for metal-on-metal (MoM) total hip arthroplasty (THA) devices to conduct postmarket surveillance studies. MicroPort has various acetabular shells, acetabular liners, fixation screws, femoral heads, femoral stems, modular necks, and proximal bodies currently cleared for MoM indications. Together these components comprise the Wright Medical Technology (WMT) MoM THA System. The primary objective of the study is to determine the incidence of adverse local tissue reactions (ALTR) in each THA implanted with the WMT MoM THA System overall and to create cross-sectional epochs of ≤ 8 years and > 8 years, since implantation.

NCT ID: NCT03432650 Completed - Hip Disease Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Anterior Quadratus Lumborum Block for Postoperative Analgesia in Hip Arthroscopy

Start date: June 1, 2018
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Hip arthroscopy is performed frequently and the postoperative course often involves moderate to severe pain. There remains no definitive perioperative pain regimen that has been proven to be effective and safe for this ambulatory procedure. Some institutions perform peripheral nerve blocks either preoperatively or postoperatively as a rescue block. All of these PNBs lead to quadriceps weakness which may impede earlier mobilization and physical therapy. While some case reports exist, there have not been any studies evaluating the QLB for hip arthroscopy patients. As previously mentioned, the technique is easy to perform, well-tolerated by patients, and avoids side effects such as hypotension, urinary retention, or the quadriceps weakness associated with lumbar plexus blockade.

NCT ID: NCT03417934 Completed - Hip Disease Clinical Trials

Effects of Hip Distraction Without a Perineal Post on Venous Blood Flow and Peripheral Nerve Conduction

Start date: January 8, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

The purpose of this pilot study is to evaluate the effects of hip distraction without a perineal post on the lower extremity during hip arthroscopic procedures by peri-operative monitoring of various prognostic markers for venous, nerve and tissue injury.

NCT ID: NCT03341104 Completed - Hip Disease Clinical Trials

Evaluation of LB in THA

Start date: January 1, 2013
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of liposomal bupivacaine (LB) versus standard of practice local injection containing plain bupivacaine.
