Filter by:This study was a retrospective clinical observational cohort study. All patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) whose HBsAg decreased by less than 10% were treated continuously with interferon in the Department of Hepatology, Beijing Ditan Hospital, Beijing Medical University, Beijing Capital University, 2008.10-2017.4. The total interferon treatment time of the enrolled subjects was 48 weeks. The subjects were randomly divided into the following two observation cohorts: 1) patients with chronic hepatitis B treated with continuous interferon for 48 weeks; 2) intermittent interferon For 48 weeks of treatment for patients with chronic hepatitis B, the interferon treatment interval was 3 months. HBV DNA content, HBsAg/anti-HBs, HBeAg/anti-HBe and biochemical markers, serum AFP and liver imaging (liver ultrasound) were collected before treatment (baseline) and during treatment. The primary outcome measure was the rate at which HBsAg disappeared at 48 weeks of treatment. The secondary evaluation index was the 48-week HBeAg seroconversion rate. To investigate the efficacy, influencing factors and safety of interferon intermittent treatment of chronic hepatitis B.
This study is aimed to collect and analyze clinical data of patients with chronic viral hepatitis in the real world, to investigate the long-term outcome of these patients and to optimize treatment options based on these data.
This study aimed to confirm efficacy and safety of KW-136, an investigational anti-hepatitis C virus (HCV) drug, combined with sofosbuvir for treatment of naive and experienced adults chronically infected with HCV. Three hundred and sixty (360) non-cirrhotic and cirrhotic subjects were medicated with KW-136 60 mg daily and sofosbuvir 400 mg daily. The treatment course lasted 12 successive weeks; thereafter all the study participants entered into a 12-week treatment-free follow-up period and an additional 12-week extension treatment-free follow-up period.
In the current era of highly effective direct acting antiviral (DAA) therapy, the remaining obstacles to elimination of chronic HCV infection are identification of the high-risk groups, linkage to continued care and prevention of re-infection. It is estimated that 70-80% of patients with chronic HCV are unaware of their infection. Besides, public health education is limited and most patients are not aware that the current standard-of-care is highly effective, well tolerated and no longer require weekly subcutaneous injections. From a survey in Hong Kong in 2014, among 234 newly diagnosed HCV patients, only 20% agreed to undergo treatment. There is no universal screening programme for chronic hepatitis C infection in Hong Kong. and known high-risk patients include people who inject drugs (PWID), persons with certain medical conditions including those on hemodialysis, HIV infected, those with prior transfusion or organ transplantation. In this study, the investigators plan to reach out to PWIDs, people with substance abuse or prison inmates to provide rapid point-of-care screening for chronic hepatitis C infection, and to provide linkage to care for those diagnosed with chronic hepatitis C.
To evaluate the efficacy, adverse effect, short - and long-term outcomes of Glecaprevir/Pibrentasvir for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C (non-cirrhotic or compensatory cirrhosis)in China through a real-world study
This randomized controlled trial is designed to evaluate safety, effectiveness and pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) relationships associated with three different Nitazoxanide (NTZ) treatment regimens added to Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate (TDF), Tenofovir Alafenamide (TAF) or Entecavir (ETV) in treating Chronic Hepatitis B (CHB).
Hepatitis C is a public health problem and the high cost of the Direct-Acting Antivirals (DAA) is one of the main limitations for treatment worldwide. In Colombia, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection (MoHSP) has made progress in addressing Hepatitis C problem in order to control the infection and resolve barriers to access to medicines. One of the strategies implemented was the purchase of DAA, in association with the PAHO, and the instauration of the Clinical Pathway for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C. The implementation of the Clinical Pathway has required the integration of health care processes and the respective report in the health information systems, allowing a high level of control in the monitoring of the Hepatitis C and the subsequent generation of indicators. However, there is limited information on the effects of the strategic purchase and the instauration of the Clinical Pathway on the costs of care, clinical outcomes and the quality of health care for patients with Hepatitis C in Colombia. The aim of this study is to establish the effect of strategic purchasing and the Clinical Pathway for the treatment of chronic Hepatitis C, in the clinical results, in the general costs and quality of health care of Hepatitis C patients in Colombia.
The primary objective of this study is to prospectively analyse psychiatric outcomes, specifically depression and anxiety in patients with hepatitis C virus infection who are initiated on DAA therapy (sofosbuvir based regimen).
Adult patients with chronic hepatitis B and cirrhosis of any etiology who are found to have suspected liver cancer are potentially eligible for the study. All enrolled patients will undergo two MRI scans using two different contrast agents. The type of contrast agent for the 1st MRI will be performed using hepatocyte-specific contrast agent. The participant will undergo the 2nd MRI using extracellular contrast agent. The MRI examinations will be independently interpreted by two different radiologists. The radiologists will evaluate focal hepatic lesions and categorize them according to the LI-RADS v2018 and EASL 2018. Once the diagnosis is made, the participants will be provided with the standard of care. After the initial treatment, the participants will be followed up with multi-phasic dynamic contrast-enhanced CT every 3 or 6 months for at least 2 years. Based on the prospectively written radiology reports, the diagnostic performances will be calculated and compared between MRI with hepatocyte-specific contrast agent and MRI with extracellular contrast agent, using the pathology and clinical criteria as the reference standard.
This is a multi-center, open-label clinical study. This study was aimed to assess the real-world effectiveness and safety of treatment with listed DAAs in patients with CHC and cirrhosis in Southern area of China.
