Filter by:This study will assess the safety,efficacy,pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of multiple-dose of STSP-0601 at two dose levels for the treatment of bleeding episodes in hemophilia A or B patients without inhibitor.
Studies have shown, in haemophilia patients, the effectiveness of Anti TFPI antibody (aTFPIAb) to prevent joint and muscular bleeding (tissues poor in Tissue Factor (TF)). However, cases of cerebral thrombosis (tissues rich in TF) have been observed in some patients treated with this antibody. Because an inter-individual variation in thrombin generation correction by aTFPIAb, an aTFPIAb concentration effective at low TF concentration could be at the same time thrombogenic at high TF concentration.
The main objectives are reduction of body weight, BMI and abdominal circumference. Secondary objectives are reduction of bleeds and units coagulation factor concentrate used, blood-pressure, cholesterol spectrum, glucose and improvement of physical activity and dietary habits. one group of patients will receive a combined lifestyle intervention program with individual sessions and group sessions lasting for 2 years, the other group of patients will receive individual sessions only and will be given the same information as given in the group sessions, but on paper.
The main objectives of this study are to evaluate safety and chronic effects of a low-load resistance exercise intervention (elbow flexions and extensions, and knee extensions) with blood flow restriction in people with hemophilia on quality of life, pain, and on physical and neuromuscular function.
Introduction: Hemophilic ankle arthropathy is manifested by degenerative functional alterations (deficit of muscle strength, mobility and proprioception), intra-articular alterations and chronic pain. Manual therapy techniques are used to treat soft tissue adhesions, relieve pain and reduce tissue sensitivity. Design. randomized pilot trial. Aimed: To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of a protocol by manual therapy techniques in patients with hemophilic ankle arthropathy. Patients: 24 patients with ankle arthropathy will be recruited for inclusion in the study. Patients will be recruited in seven centers, from different regions of Spain. Intervention: Each session will last approximately 50-60 minutes, with 1 physiotherapy session per week for a period of 3 weeks. Patients will be evaluated at baseline, after the intervention, and after a follow-up period of 3 weeks. The treatment program includes 10 exercises that must be administered bilaterally. Measuring instruments and study variables: Visual Analog Scale and pressure algometer (joint pain); Leg motion (ankle range of motion); and Haemophilia Joint Health Score (joint health). At the same time, the study will allow to determine joint bleeding caused by applied physiotherapy treatment. Expected results: To demonstrate the safety of this Physiotherapy technique in patients with hemophilia. Likewise, an improvement in ankle pain, joint motion, joint health and pressure pain threshold.
Hemophilia is associated with osteoporosis and increased prevalence of low bone mineral density (BMD). Many clinical risk factors have been reported, such as hemophilic arthropathy, reduced physical activity, decreased sun exposure, hepatitis C virus infections, vitamin D deficiency, and low body mass index (BMI). There is no data on the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency and low BMD in hemophilia patients in Taiwan or Asia. To the best of our knowledge, no previous studies have reported the prevalence of sarcopenia and correlation with osteoporosis in hemophilia adult patients. The purpose of this study will evaluate the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency, low BMD, sarcopenia and body composition in a cohort of patients with hemophilia in Taiwan.
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and tolerability, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of subcutaneous MG1113 in the multiple ascending dose study in patients with severe hemophilia.
The main aim is to describe how the treatment burden and challenges of participants, relatives, and doctors during regular Factor VIII and Factor IX infusions to treat hemophilia evolve using a virtual-reality (VR) based solution. The study also aims to find out how well the VR based solution is tolerated and how satisfied the participants, relatives, and doctors are with it. The VR-based solution includes a mobile phone app and a 3D mask. Participants will use the VR-based solution while receiving prophylactic Factor VIII and Factor IX infusions for 4 weeks at home. Participants will visit the clinic for the last infusion; at this time data will be collected from participants, relatives, and doctors
This study is designed to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and efficacy of multiple subcutaneous doses of KN057 in subjects with hemophilia A or B, with or without inhibitors to Factor VIII (FVIII) or Factor IX (FIX). 24 adult participants 18 to 70 years of age with moderately severe to severe hemophilia A or hemophilia B (defined as FVIII or FIX activity ≤2%, respectively) with or without inhibitors (including 18 HA/HB patients without inhibitors and 6 HA/HB patients with inhibitors) are expected to be enrolled in this study during which they will receive prophylaxis treatment (defined as treatment by SC injection once weekly of KN057).
While the burden of standard treatment may be reduced through the use of gene therapy, converting those with severe haemophilia to a mild or moderate phenotype, the long-term sequelae of previous joint bleeds and associated limitations imposed on those with severe haemophilia may not translate to lessen the biomedical burden of living with a history of severe haemophilia. We wish to explore these issues further in the Learning to Live study. The study will also seek to identify the ongoing support needs of those who transition to a milder bleeding phenotype.
