A Study of Low Dose Interferon Alpha Versus Hydroxyurea in Treatment of Chronic Myeloid Neoplasms

DALIAH
Start date: January 2012
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to compare the efficacy and toxicity including quality of life of two types of low-dose interferon alpha compounds (PegIntron and Pegasys) with hydroxyurea (Hydrea), and to investigate the occurence of neutralizing antibodies against recombinant interferon.

NCT ID: NCT01384513 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia

A Two-Step Approach to Reduced Intensity Bone Marrow Transplant for Patients With Hematological Malignancies

Start date: August 4, 2011
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this research study is to compare the survival rates of patients with better risk disease undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) to the survival rates reported in the medical literature of similar patients undergoing reduced intensity HSCT from matched related donors.

NCT ID: NCT01243073 Completed - Polycythemia Vera Clinical Trials

Open Label Study to Evaluate the Activity of Imetelstat in Patients With Essential Thrombocythemia or Polycythemia Vera

ET/PV
Start date: December 2010
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a phase II open-label study of single agent imetelstat in patients with essential thrombocytopenia or with polycythemia vera who have failed or are intolerant to at least one prior therapy, or who refuse standard therapy.

NCT ID: NCT01199562 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia

Infection Prophylaxis and Management in Treating Cytomegalovirus (CMV) Infection in Patients With Hematologic Malignancies Previously Treated With Donor Stem Cell Transplant

Start date: December 2010
Phase:
Study type: Observational

RATIONALE: Infection prophylaxis and management may help prevent cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection caused by a stem cell transplant. PURPOSE:This clinical trial studies infection prophylaxis and management in treating cytomegalovirus infection in patients with hematologic malignancies previously treated with donor stem cell transplant.

NCT ID: NCT01192347 Completed - Clinical trials for Essential Thrombocythemia

French Observational Xagrid (FOX) Study In Adult Patients With Essential Thrombocythemia

FOX
Start date: September 13, 2010
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This is an observational study to explore how different treatment regimens affect continuation with treatment in the first 6 months following initiation of XAGRID into adult patients' essential thrombocythemia therapy.

NCT ID: NCT01053494 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia

Massage Therapy Given by Caregiver in Treating Quality of Life of Young Patients Undergoing Treatment for Cancer

Start date: April 2010
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This clinical trial studies massage therapy given by caregiver in treating quality of life of young patients undergoing treatment for cancer. Massage therapy given by a caregiver may improve the quality of life of young patients undergoing treatment for cancer

NCT ID: NCT00890747 Completed - Clinical trials for Unspecified Adult Solid Tumor, Protocol Specific

Sunitinib Malate in Treating HIV-Positive Patients With Cancer Receiving Antiretroviral Therapy

Start date: August 2009
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This phase I trial studies the side effects and the best dose of sunitinib malate in treating human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-positive patients with cancer receiving antiretroviral therapy. Sunitinib malate may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth and by blocking blood flow to the tumor.

NCT ID: NCT00745550 Completed - Myelofibrosis Clinical Trials

A Phase 1/2 Study of Oral SB1518 in Subjects With Chronic Idiopathic Myelofibrosis

Start date: August 2008
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The study consists of two phases: The first portion of the study is a Phase 1 dose escalation study to determine the maximum tolerated dose and the dose limiting toxicities of SB1518 when given as a single agent orally once daily in subjects with Chronic Idiopathic Myelofibrosis (CIMF) regardless of their JAK2 mutational status. The second portion of the study is a Phase 2 study to define the efficacy and safety profile of single agent SB1518 at the recommended dose in subjects with CIMF.

NCT ID: NCT00718159 Completed - Clinical trials for Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Study of LY573636-sodium in Essential Thrombocythemia and Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Start date: August 2008
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine a safe dose of LY573636-sodium to be given to patients with acute myeloid leukemia and to determine any side effects that may be associated with LY573636-sodium in this patient population. Efficacy measures will also be used to assess the activity of LY573636-sodium in acute myeloid leukemia and essential thrombocythemia patients.
