The purpose of this study is to determine whether fully covered or partially covered metal stents are more favorable in incurable malignant stenosis of the esophagus or cardia. Primary outcome will be the occurence of recurrent dysphagia which is defined as dysphagia due to a stent or tumour related cause in a 6-month follow-up
A database analysis and review of histological slides (retrospective) and a patient questionnaire analysis (prospective) will be conducted in Bern (Switzerland) to evaluate the efficacy and safety of esophageal dilation and its effect on the underlying eosinophilic inflammation in patients with Eosinophilic Esophagitis. This study aims to evaluate mitomycin C as an adjunct to endoscopic treatment of esophageal strictures. This is a crossover, controlled, clinical trial in which children with esophageal stricture will be randomized in two groups to receive either topical mitomycin or no additional treatment during standard esophageal dilation session.
