Crestal vs Lateral Sinus Lift Augmentation

Start date: November 1, 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this randomised controlled trial (RCT) of split-mouth design was to compare patient preference and effectiveness of two different techniques for lifting the maxillary sinus: the crestal approach versus the lateral window approach.

Narrow Dental Implants in Multiple Fixed Prosthesis: A Controlled Clinical Trial

Start date: August 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The objective of this study is to evaluate the survival of narrow dental implants (≤ 3,5 mm) in multiple fixed prostheses in comparison with standard diameter dental implants (≥ 3,75 mm) after 5 years of follow-up. The hypothesis of the study is that narrow dental implants under the evaluated conditions, have the same survival rate and clinical performance than the standard diameter implants.

NCT ID: NCT03887975 Completed - Clinical trials for Edentulous Alveolar Ridge

T-Scan Study of Occlusion in Case of Implant Retained Overdenture

Start date: February 20, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Materials and methods: fourteen patients were selected according to the inclusion criteria, the participants were stratified equally into two groups, patients were assigned to receive either monoplane or lingualized occlusal schemes to their overdentures. For each patient placement of two mini-implants in the mandible at the canine region was done, bar joint attachment was used to splint the mini implants. Each implant was 2.5 mm in diameter and 10 mm in length. T-scan occlusal load analysis records were done in centric occlusion , the records was used to analyze the biting force of the denture as a Full Closure Force Movie recording, then Time vs. Force Graph of that Force Movie is accomplished. T-scan records were taken three times for each patient in the two groups ,Immediately after loading ,three months and six months of loading.

NCT ID: NCT03714139 Completed - Clinical trials for Edentulous Alveolar Ridge

Immediate Loading a Histological Study

Start date: March 3, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Twelve participants with edentulous alveolar crests in the distal portion of the arches will be included in the study. At least two implant sites will be identified in each patient and will be sub-prepared with drills or sonic instruments. One site will be used as a test and one as a control where experimental mini-implants will be installed. Reconstructive surgical procedures will be applied at the biopsy sites.

NCT ID: NCT03674554 Not yet recruiting - Edentulous Jaw Clinical Trials

Prosthetic Complications of Screw Retained Restoration

Start date: October 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

On of the main fixed prosthetic options of completely edentulous patients is the screw-retained implant supported prosthesis which was constructed on transmucosal abutments with its encountered problems such as: hardness to make it passively seated with multiple screw fracture and loosening problems and multiple encountered veneer material fracture and so there effect on patient satisfaction with multiple maintenance recalls.so, the investigators want to try a new technique of fabrication which was proposed for reducing the problems of lack of passivity which is the intraoral luting cement technique on titanium bases with reduced screw number but, with luting cement problems as de-cementation and cement biological effects on soft tissues and bone and there effect on number of patient recall visits and maintenance and so there effect on patient satisfaction

NCT ID: NCT03582657 Completed - Dental Implant Clinical Trials

Performance and Safety Use of the Nanostructured Titanium Dental Implant "KONTACT N"

Start date: February 4, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

A multicenter prospective observational study in which aim is to illustrate the clinical outcome of dental implants "Kontact N"; and the effects of its nanostructured surface on the osseointegration and secondary stability without increasing the rate of peri-implantitis. All the enrolled patients will be eligible for one or multiple implant-supported fixed restoration(s) according to the routine clinical practice and the manufacturer's instruction for use.

NCT ID: NCT03177356 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Edentulous Alveolar Ridge

Implant Placement in Mandibular Molar Xenograft Versus PRF

Start date: July 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

20 recruited patients indicated for immediate implant placement in mandibular molar patients are divided into 2 groups each group contain 15 patients, one group assigned for placement of bovine bone after molar extraction and immediate implant placement, while the other group we use Platelet-rich fibrin as space filling material.

NCT ID: NCT02731586 Enrolling by invitation - Clinical trials for Edentulous Alveolar Ridge

Effect on Allogenic Mesenchymal Stem Cells on Osseointegration of Dental Implants

MSC&IMPLANTS
Start date: January 2016
Phase: Early Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

As Regenerative Medicine is the next level in medicinal sciences, the use of mesenchymal cells have become prevalent, Similarly now stem cells are being used in dental research as well in various clinical applications. This study aims to evaluate the overall effect of osseointegration by use of Allogenic Mesenchymal Stem cells while placing dental implants.Healthy subjects will be chosen and dental implants placed bilaterally one with standard surgical protocol and other with the use of Allogenic Mesenchymal Stem cells. The implant stability is checked using Resonance frequency analysis(RFA).The RFA values are statistically evaluated at various intervals and observations will be analysed on both test and control side.

NCT ID: NCT02660697 Completed - Clinical trials for Edentulous Alveolar Ridge

3D Radiographic Evaluation of a Novel Implant Site Development Technique

Start date: December 2007
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The present retrospective study aims at assessing the clinical effects of a novel implant site development (Extraction site development - XSD) technique after tooth extraction compared with extraction alone in patients requiring dental implant placement following healing of extraction sockets.

NCT ID: NCT02380404 Completed - Clinical trials for Edentulous Alveolar Ridge

Effectiveness of Removable Prosthesis Retained by 4 Implant-supported Locator-Attachments

LOC
Start date: April 2, 2014
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

1. Hypothesis/Specific aims The aim of the present study proposal is to validate an implant treatment concept in the edentulous upper maxilla using four implants-supported locators abutments to retain removable prosthesis. Specific aims: - The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the implant and prosthodontics success rates of the proposed implant treatment approach after a follow-up period of 1, 3 and 5 years as well as the biological and prosthodontics complications. - The secondary objective is to assess the evolution of patient centered outcomes with the suggested treatment in the maxilla. Oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) and patients' satisfaction relating to their prostheses will be considered. - The third objective will be to compare the implant, prosthodontics and patient-centered outcomes according to the implant distribution; 4 anterior to maxillary sinus (ANT) versus 2 anterior implants and 2 implants in the maxillary tuberosity (POST). Hypothesis: - Implant survival rate using this treatment concept is similar to restoration with implant-supported fixed prosthesis, based on published data. No difference of implant survival rates is found between ANT and POST implant distribution. - Prosthodontics survival rate using the following treatment concept is similar to the ones found with a bar, based on published data. The ANT implant distribution causes fewer prosthodontics complications compared to the POST implant distribution. - There is a significant improvement in OHRQoL and patient satisfaction compared to the baseline OHRQoL observed with a conventional removable denture. The levels of improvement OHRQoL and patient satisfaction are similar for ANT and POST implant distributions.
