Filter by:This study will compare two commonly used soft tissue grafting techniques (free gingival graft, FGG vs. connective tissue graft, CTG) to augment the soft tissue around dental implants with a lack of keratinized mucosa. To investigators knowledge, these 2 types of grafts have not been compared for differences in clinical (amount of KM increase, tissue thickness increase and esthetics) and patient-centered outcomes (pain, swelling, change in daily activities) in a controlled study.
The purpose of the study is to compare two different types of dental implants which will be used to support/retain a removable denture in the edentulous mandible. Subjects will have one implant placed in the midline of the mandible after which the patient's existing denture will be modified to fit the implant. The population of this study consists of healthy edentulous individuals 20-75 years of age who have complete dentures in the upper and lower arch.
The purpose of this trial was to determine the effect of a triclosan-containing toothpaste in the clinical parameters and in the profile of osteo-immunoinflammatory mediators in the peri-implant crevicular fluid (PICF) as a preventive therapy of peri-implant experimental mucositis in cigarette smokers
When an implant is placed, it is assumed that there will be a loss of bone in the more coronal area around it. The placement of the implant in relation to bone level, either crestal or subcrestal and the type of connection chosen, either external connection or internal connection, have been related as one of the factors that caused this loss. The preservation of the peri-implant bone influences the shape and contour of the underlying soft tissues, which are important for the aesthetic result of the treatment and for the success of the same. Hypothesis: The hypothesis is that there are no differences between the external and internal connection with regard to marginal bone loss. In implants placed at the crestal and subcrestal level, the hypothesis is that there is greater marginal bone loss in implants placed at the subcrestal level. Objectives: Main: To evaluate the marginal bone loss around implants of internal connection and external connection. Secondary: To compare the loss of bone in implants of internal connection placed at crestal and subcrestal level. To evaluate intra and post-operative complications. Material and methods: A prospective and randomized radiological study will be performed. 150 implants will be placed in patients who must present partial edentulism and require the replacement of at least 2 crowns on implants in the same jaw. In a randomized manner, implants of external connection and internal connection will be placed. Other features such as surface treatment type of the implant will be similar in both types of implants to reduce bias. With this study the investigators will try to define if there is a procedure in when to the connection of the implant and the location of this, that is more beneficial with respect to the preservation of bone.
Patients with remaining root or fractured teeth indicated for extraction in the esthetic zone will be recruited to the study. After extraction of the tooth implant will be placed immediately, implants will be placed either by free hand or computer guided technique. patient satisfaction will be evaluated as primary outcome and early implant failure was evaluated as secondary outcome.
The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of polymer-infiltrated-ceramic-network hybrid ceramic on pink and white esthetics in comparison with lithium disilicate. The research hypothesis is that there will be comparable clinical performance results between polymer-infiltrated-ceramic-network and lithium disilicate hybrid abutment crowns.
Purpose of the single arm study is to clinically and histologically evaluate alloplastic in-situ hardening, moldable beta-tricalcium phosphate(TCP) bone graft material and polylactide membrane in alveolar ridge preservation following extraction of non-molar teeth with non-containable extraction sockets.
The Primary Objectives of the present study are : - To Evaluate the effect of platelet rich fibrin matrix (PRFM) and peripheral blood mesenchymal stem cells (PBMSCs) on implant stability. - To Compare the effect of platelet rich fibrin matrix (PRFM) alone to peripheral blood mesenchymal stem cells (PBMSCs) embedded in platelet rich fibrin matrix (PRFM) on implant stability.
This study evaluates the impact of soft tissue grafts on soft tissue recession following immediate implant, provisional and bone graft placement in compromised sockets. One third of the patients received a collagen matrix (CM group), another third received a connective tissue graft removed from the palate (CTG group) and the final third did not receive any soft tissue graft (CTL group).
To evaluate the clinical success, stability, radiographic bone level changes and peri-implants soft tissue parameter of the SLActive surface implant supporting single crowns restorations in early loading in the mandibular first molar region.
