There are about 1129 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Estonia. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This 3 arm study will compare the efficacy and safety of beta-lactam with that of 'standard care' in patients with complicated skin and skin structure infections requiring hospitalization. Patients will be randomized to receive 1)beta-lactam 750mg iv q8h 2)beta-lactam 1500mg iv q8h or 3)'standard care' [PRP (nafcillin or flucloxacillin) or vancomycin, plus aztreonam or ciprofloxacin]. The anticipated time on study treatment is <3 months and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.
The primary objective is to compare the antidepressant efficacy, safety, and tolerability of DVS SR versus placebo in subjects with Major Depressive Disorder. Additional objectives include testing both general and functional quality-of-life outcomes and satisfaction with therapy reported by the subject.
This study will last up to 6 weeks. Subjects will visit the clinic up to 5 times. Certain clinic visits will include a physical examination, medical history review, and lung function tests. All study related medications and medical examinations will be provided at no cost to the subject. The drugs used in this study are approved for the age group under study.
The purpose of this study is to see if rosuvastatin compared to Atorvastatin is effective in treating ACS by decreasing the ApoB/ApoA-1 ratio and if starting statin within 24 h following the onset of the first symptoms is beneficial compared to placebo.
This double-blind, stratified, parallel group study is to determine whether aiming for 'Total control' results in better airway hyper-responsiveness than maintaining the treatment level at which 'Well-controlled' asthma was achieved. The primary endpoint is the mean change in PC20 methacholine. Well controlled subjects (as assessed after a 12 week run-in period) will enter a 24 week treatment period during which they will record PEF(Peak Expiratory Flow), symptoms, rescue beta2-agonist use over 24 hours, night time awakenings, asthma exacerbations, emergency visits due to asthma and Adverse Events. At every visit lung function measurements and airway hyper-responsiveness will be measured.
Patients will receive injections of GSK 249553 vaccine . Appropriate tests will be performed to assess the safety of the treatment and its ability to induce an immune response.
The primary objective of this study is to compare the efficacy and safety of GW685698X 100mcg once daily (QD) aqueous nasal spray with vehicle placebo nasal spray in adult and adolescent subjects (12 years of age and older) with perennial allergic rhinitis (PAR).
Patients will be randomised to receive either placebo or the study drug for a period of 30 weeks, in addition to their standard Parkinsonian medications. During the first 8 weeks, the patient's levodopa doses may be adjusted if necessary by the investigator. For the remainder of the 22 weeks, all medications should be kept stable. Patients will be required to attend the clinic twice during the screening period and then a further 8 times during the treatment period. They will be required to complete home diaries where they will record their motor function. In addition, their doctor will assess their Parkinson's disease during the clinic visits. There will also be blood draws for safety and pharmacokinetic and pharmacogenomics evaluation. Following the treatment and assessment period, they will return to the clinic one month later for follow up.
The purpose of this study is to assess whether Lyrica is a safe and effective treatment for partial epilepsy in comparison with an established treatment, Lamictal.
The major purpose of the study is to help determine whether giving the combination of Elzasonan with Zoloft to people with depression is a better treatment than taking Zoloft alone. This study will also compare the safety and tolerability of Elzasonan and Zoloft combination to Zoloft alone or placebo.
