This infection causes febrile illness associated with high fever, rash, acute deliberating and persistent arthralgia. There is no licensed vaccine or specific treatment for this infection. Ivermectin (IVM), commonly-used antiparasitic, has been demonstrated to inhibit replication of CHIKV.
