Filter by:This is a single-center, prospective, observational study intended to include patients receiving TIPS for portal hypertension. Baseline data of enrolled patients were recorded, and samples of ascites, feces and urine were collected before surgery. Venous blood (superior mesenteric vein, hepatic vein, peripheral vein) from different parts of the entero-hepatic axis was retained during operation, and patients were followed up regularly for 2 years. The incidence of infection, hepatic encephalopathy, upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage and ascites in patients with portal hypertension who received TIPS intervention were observed within 3 months after operation. And the stent patency was observed within 2 years after surgery. To investigate the characteristics of microbial, protein and metabolic components on enterohepatic axis and their relationship with prognosis of patients with cirrhosis by detecting microbiome, proteome and metabolome.
The aim of the current study is to assess if EUS-PPGM could predict the treatment response and outcomes of varices to endoscopic variceal ligation (EVL) in patients with chronic hepatitis. The hypothesis is that a high EUS-PPGM value at 3 months correlates with the presence of varices requiring EVL in patients that have received primary or secondary variceal prophylaxis on 1 year follow-up upper endoscopy.
Portal vein flow velocity as screening tool for prediction of oesophageal varices in cirrhotic patient without upper endoscopy
Decompensated cirrhosis is associated with sarcopenia. TIPS is an efficient treatment of portal hypertension. Based on our retrospective data, TIPS induces in 30% of cirrhotic patients metabolic disorders associated with diabetes or pre-diabetes. The main objective is to measure the cumulative incidence of diabetes and pre-diabetes 6 months after TIPS insertion.
