Filter by:This is an exploratory non-therapeutic study to study the microbiome patterns during pregnancy in women with ICP in order to identify specific bacterial strains for further product development.
Many studies have attempted to find the predictors of adverse neonatal outcome in women with Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy(ICP).Serum total bile acid level exceeding 40 µmol/L has been associated with increased risk of meconium staining, low Apgar scores, preterm delivery, and stillbirth.Other predictors such as level of transaminases, history of cholelithiasis, and hepatitis virus infection have been studied but the results are inconclusive.A more comprehensive investigation involving multiple neonatal outcomes and a wide variety of outcome predictors is needed in order to establish guidelines for optimal timing of delivery in pregnancies complicated by ICP. The aim of our study was to evaluate wide variety of predictors of adverse neonatal outcomes in a large cohort of women with ICP .
The purpose of this study is to determine whether the investigational treatment (maralixibat) is safe and effective in pediatric participants with Progressive Familial Intrahepatic Cholestasis (PFIC).
The primary objectives of the study are to assess the mass balance recovery after a single dose of carbon-14 [14C]-A4250 as a capsule and to provide plasma, urine and faecal samples for metabolite profiling and structural identification in healthy male subjects.
The primary objectives of the study are to evaluate the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of A4250 after single or multiple oral doses in healthy subjects. In addition, will evaluate A4250 in combination with cholestyramine.
A research study of an approved drug called Heptral®, ademetionine, to treat adults with intrahepatic cholestasis (a condition where bile cannot flow from the liver to the duodenum) in pre-cirrhotic and cirrhotic states. Experience from clinical studies in subjects with liver disease has shown that ademetionine is effective.
The purpose of the study is to validate the ItchRO instrument (a clinical outcome assessment measure of itching) prior to the analysis of longitudinal treatment effect data being generated in ongoing clinical trials.
This is an open label study in children with Progressive Familial Intrahepatic Cholestasis (PFIC) designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of LUM001, also known as Maralixibat (MRX). Efficacy will be assessed by evaluating the effect of LUM001 on pruritus and the biochemical markers of pruritus associated with PFIC.
This will be a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study to assess safety and tolerability of GSK2330672 administration in subjects with primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) and symptoms of pruritus. It is a double-blind, crossover study with subjects receiving placebo or GSK23306772 in random order during two 14-day treatment periods. Additionally, the study will determine GSK2330672 exposure and interactions with ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA). The total duration of subject participation will be 14 weeks for screening (45 days) and the treatment period. Subjects who are eligible for enrolment will participate in a 2-week placebo run-in period. Subjects will be randomized in a crossover fashion (Sequence 1 / Sequence 2) to receive placebo or GSK2330672 treatment during two consecutive 2-week study periods. Subjects will then participate in a 2-week placebo dosing follow-up period ending in final follow-up assessments. Study results will be utilized to form a benefit: risk profile for GSK2330672 in PBC that will determine plans for progression to exploratory efficacy trials
The purpose of this study is to examine the efficacy and safety of ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) in the treatment of patients with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP). In the randomised (double-blind, placebo-controlled) study 20 pregnant women with ICP received (random allocation of) either 450 mg/day UDCA or placebo for 14 days during the third trimester of pregnancy. The severity of pruritus was registered. Itching scores and serum levels of alanine aminotransferase, total bile acids, estradiol, progesterone, prolactin, cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, triglycerides, activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), fibrinogen D-dimers (FIDD) and platelet count were assessed before the treatment and weekly thereafter. Data on pregnancy and delivery outcome was recorded and analysed.
