Telehealth and Onsite Maintenance Exercise in COPD

The goal of this pilot clinical trial is to compare telehealth and onsite supervised maintenance exercise program for adults with COPD. The specific aims of the study are: - To compare 8-week supervised maintenance program delivered onsite and via tele-rehab with no maintenance for patients with COPD following discharge from traditional exercise or physical therapy or onsite outpatient rehabilitation programs on clinical outcomes (dyspnea, exercise capacity, physical function, physical activity, and quality of life) at 8 weeks and 4-months post-intervention. - To compare the differences in dyspnea, exercise capacity, physical function, physical activity, and quality of life between an 8-week maintenance program delivered onsite and via tele-rehab at 8-weeks and 4-months post-intervention in patients with COPD following discharge from traditional onsite outpatient rehabilitation. Participants in both intervention groups (onsite and tele-rehab) will undergo a baseline onsite assessment followed by an 8-week supervised exercise intervention either onsite or in a telehealth setting. Control group will receive biweekly check in calls, but no active intervention.

The aim of the study In this study, pranayama yoga practices are the sub-dimensions of respiratory parameters, symptom and disease affection level, psychosocial adjustment and psychosocial adjustment in individuals with COPD. It was planned in a randomized controlled manner to examine the effects of healthcare compliance, professional environment, family environment, sexual relations, extended family relationships, social environment and psychological pressure. Pranayama yoga practices are aimed to reduce the frequency of symptoms and the level of disease exposure in individuals with COPD. Pranayama yoga practices are aimed to increase psychosocial adjustment in individuals with COPD. Pranayama yoga practices aim to increase compliance with health care, occupational, social and family environment, sexual and extended family relationships, and psychological pressure, which are the sub-dimensions of psychosocial adjustment in individuals with COPD. It is observed that all the yoga practices performed have improved the pulmonary functions of individuals with COPD, decrease the severity of symptoms, relieve inflammation, and increase muscle strength and physical performance. It was concluded that because of yoga increases awareness in patients, patients significantly reduce their level of depression and anxiety and adapt to social life. Yoga improves patients' quality of life by alleviating symptoms and increasing self-awareness. pranayama yoga practices are safe, home-applied, effective, cost-effective, complementary to drug therapy and can be performed during pulmonary rehabilitation for individuals with COPD (1-2) . The results of this study are important in guiding caregivers and healthcare professionals during the holistic care of COPD individuals and in pulmonary rehabilitation.

Antibiotics, Microbiology and Immunology in Children With Chronic Wet Cough - the AMIC Study

The AMIC study is a double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter, nationwide, randomized controlled academic pharmaceutical trial. OVERALL PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: - To study the clinical efficacy of antibiotics in children with chronic wet cough (CWC). - To study if duration of treatment with antibiotics in children with CWC has impact on efficacy or time to relapse of symptoms. OVERALL SECONDARY OBJECTIVE: -To study respiratory pathogens and the diversity/composition of airway and gut microbiome in children with CWC compared to healthy controls, and changes in pathogens/microbiome after treatment with antibiotics. OVERALL TERTIARY OBJECTIVE: -To study inflammatory markers in children with CWC and the impact of treatment with antibiotics. Furthermore, identify children with CWC who have primary immunodeficiency (PID) based on functional laboratory markers and genetic markers of PID. The study will include two different interventions: INTERVENTION 1: Participants will be randomly assigned to 14 days antibiotics or placebo INTERVENTION 2: Participants will be randomly assigned 1:1 to receive either 14 or 28 days with amoxicillin-clavulanate syrup
