Filter by:Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is the late pulmonary complications after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) leading to high morbidity and mortality. At present, the treatment for ILD after allo-HSCT remains in discussion. In this study, the efficacy of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) combined azithromycin as well as glucocorticoid as the treatment of ILD will be evaluated in the recipients of allo-HSCT.
Chronic organ dysfunction after lung transplantation (BOS) is the most common cause of death in long-term survivors after lung transplantation and refractory to most interventions. Early markers will be established in this project study to overcome the problem of disease recognition when impairment of graft function is already taken place. Long-term longitudinal monitoring in stable recipients of innovative markers of airway inflammation and ventilation and new imaging techniques will define different entities of chronic organ dysfunction after LTx. A database and specimen service unit for further projects will be created. Hypothesis: This project will reveal new markers and imaging tools in recipients who develop BOS after lung transplantation. These tools will allow earlier diagnosis and more accurate monitoring of the disease process. Different patterns of the disease will be characterized.
The purpose of this study is to investigate whether dry powder inhalation of Cyclosporine A is beneficial in lung transplant patients with Bronchiolitis Obliterans Syndrome. For patients suffering from this syndrome often no therapeutic options are available. Furthermore, the side effects of the maintenance therapy leaves no room for dose increments. The hypothesis for this trial is that when Cyclosporine A is administered locally (in the lungs) chronic rejection can be treated more effectively without extra systemic side effects.
The primary aim of this study is to determine prospectively the viral and C. pneumoniae infection prevalence and outcomes of infections in lung transplant recipients. The study will also determine the correlation of C. pneumoniae infection with the development of obliterans in lung transplant recipients.
