View clinical trials related to Bronchial Asthma.
Filter by:The purpose of the trial is to asses the efficacy and safety of sublingual annual immunotherapy in children with bronchial asthma and/or allergic rhinitis allergic to house dust mites.
The aim of the study is to investigate the effect of inhaled apocynin on ROS (reactive oxygen species) and NOS (reactive nitrogen species) synthesis in 10 nonsmoking mild asthmatics. Effects of nebulized apocynin (0.5 mg/ml, 6 ml) are assessed in exhaled breath condensate (EBC) after 30, 60 and 120 minutes.
To demonstrate the efficacy (non-inferiority) of Salmeterol 50mcg bid (100mcg/day), compared with Hokunalin (tulobuterol) tape 2mg once a day, in terms of improvement in pulmonary function (peak expiratory flow: PEF) in a randomized, double-blind, parallel-group comparative study in adult patients with bronchial asthma on ICS 400mcg/day of FP equivalent.
Childhood Asthma and Schooling: The Truth Unveiled.
The hypothesis of this study is that the onset of rapid bronchodilatory effect of inhaled Formoterol (12 microgram) is comparable to that of inhaled salbutamol (200 microgram) i.e., the difference in mean forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1) between the 2 groups at 1, 5, 10, 30 and 60 minutes will be less than 10% in children between 5-15 years with mild acute exacerbation of asthma.
Extracorporeal leukocytapheresis (LCAP) or granulocytapheresis (GCAP) has been used in the treatment of patients with rheumatoid arthritis and ulcerative colitis and has shown promising safety and efficacy. LCAP and GCAP seem to be effective for steroid-resistant inflammation. The investigators have already reported safety and efficacy of GCAP in refractory asthma and expect the beneficial effect of LCAP in refractory asthma. In this study, in order to improve the therapeutic effect of LCAP by increasing the quantity of leukocytes that were removed, the investigators conducted a clinical study to investigate safety and efficacy of high-dose LCAP performed using a larger filter and an increased dose of the blood volume per body weight treated, as an possible therapy for refractory asthma.
The aim of this trial is to determine the efficacy of a combination of two botanicals oils, borage seed oil and echium seed oil, as a potential treatment for bronchial asthma.
To determine whether or not high frequency chest wall oscillation (in the form of the VestTM) is superior to regular asthma therapy in the management of children hospitalized with moderate to severe asthma.
