Filter by:The purpose of the study is to identify the presence of residual superficial and nodular basal cell carcinoma (BCC) status-post curettage and desiccation (C&D) by using optical coherence tomography (OCT).
This study seeks to correlate microbial sequencing data from a punch biopsy in patients with skin cancer both melanoma and non-melanoma.
While current guidelines call for annual follow-up for patients with a history of basal cell carcinoma, compliance with these guidelines is imperfect. It is hypothesized that if patients are informed of the quantitative risk of a subsequent basal cell carcinoma based on individualized risk factors, the compliance rate for follow-up will improve. The primary objective of this study is to assess one-year compliance with requested follow-up for patients with recent history of basal cell carcinoma, among those who receive standard sun avoidance counseling and request for follow-up compared to those who receive, in addition, an estimate of their mathematical risk of a subsequent basal cell carcinoma based on individualized risk factors.
This 22 week study will assess the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of LDE225 versus vehicle when applied topically to basal cell carcinoma (BCC) in patients with NBCCS. Patients will treat multiple BCCs for up to 12 weeks. Treatment success is defined as complete clinical clearance and complete histological clearance in BCCs.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether separate- versus same-day preoperative consultation affects time to treatment (start to finish), utilization rate of Mohs, rate of case cancellations, cost, and patient satisfaction. The investigators hypothesize that patients with same-day preoperative consultation will have a shorter time between cancer diagnosis and removal but, only when coordination of care is needed, longer time between removal and consultation with other specialists, as compared to patients with separate-day consultation. The investigators anticipate that patients with same-day preoperative consultation will have a decrease in travel cost as compared to patients with separate-day consultation. The investigators expect that there will be no difference in various satisfaction matters between groups, with the exception of potentially greater convenience reported by patients in the same-day preoperative consultation group. Finally, the investigators hypothesize that there will be no difference between groups in regards to rates of surgery cancellation.
