Filter by:This study is looking at the impact of giving patients precautions, or restrictions for movement, when undergoing a total hip replacement. Have of the participants will receive precautions, while the other half will not receive any precautions.
The overall rationale for this investigation is to evaluate the clinical performance potential for Mepilex Border Post-Op Ag in the ability to minimize the risk of skin related post-operative wound complications such as blistering, maceration and redness at the incision and surrounding skin.
The aim of the study is to improve the surgical patients' care process. The objective is to explore the effect of a new perioperative practice model on 1) patient outcomes (satisfaction, surgery-related anxiety and quality of life), 2) nursing outcomes (organizational engagement), and 3) organization outcomes (timeline of surgical care process).
A Retrospective-Prospective Study of REDAPT Revision Femoral System Modular Stem is a post-market, retrospective-prospective, multi-center, single arm, consecutive series study design to provide data on the post market performance and safety of the study device. The study will collect retrospective data from medical records review and prospective data from observations data at 5 and 10 postoperatively clinical visits. There will also be a 7.5 year telephone follow up contact to assess for device status and adverse events.
A Single-Center Randomized, Patient-Blinded, Prospective Five-Year Study to Compare the Functional Results after Insertion of ADM X3-MoP Cup (Stryker) and a CoC Cup (Zimmer) in Primary THA. 60 patients will be enrolled during a 2 year period. At surgery tantalum beads will be inserted into predrilled holes of the polyethylene rim for assessment of motion of the large mobile poly in the ADM Trident Cup by use of RSA. Patients will be followed by functional examinations as well as PROM assessment.
The primary aim of this study is to test if etoricoxib decreases the perioperative blood loss compared to diclofenac. Secondary questions to be explored are: - Does etoricoxib prevent Heterotopic ossification after Total Hip Arthroplasty as well as diclofenac ? - Do diclofenac and etoricoxib both reduce pain at rest and on movements? - Does etoricoxib compared to diclofenac reduce the amount of rescue medication (Oxycodon)? - Does etoricoxib improve gastrointestinal tolerability compared to diclofenac?
