Emotional Dysregulation, Maladaptive Overcontrol in Anorexia - Effect of Radically Open Dialectical Behaviour Therapy

EMARO
Start date: September 15, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to study the effect of Radically Open Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (RO-DBT) in patients with anorexia nervosa (AN) in an extended baseline experimental case series study design over 30 weeks. The main questions the trial aims to answer are: 1. Does RO-DBT reduce eating disorder psychopathology in AN as measured by the Eating Disorder Examination Questionnaire (EDE-Q)? 2. Does RO-DBT reduce maladaptive overcontrol and neuroticism in AN as measured by change in the total score of the Five-Factor Obsessive Compulsive Inventory (FFOCI-SF), and the neuroticism domain in the NEO Five-Factor Inventory-3 (NEOFFI-3), respectively? 3. Does RO-DBT reduce emotional dysregulation in AN as measured by change in the Expressive Supression subscore of Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ)? 4. Does RO-DBT increase body weight as measured by change in Body Mass Index (BMI)?

App-Based Mindfulness Training for Individuals With Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa

Start date: March 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

We will evaluate the acceptability and feasibility of a 8-week long digital mindfulness-based intervention for anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. This study is a prospective single-arm trial during the intervention development phase. Following this phase, after the intervention has been further developed, a subsequent study (with a different clinicaltrials.gov identification #) will utilize a randomized control trial design.

NCT ID: NCT05509257 Recruiting - Eating Disorders Clinical Trials

Naltrexone Neuroimaging in Teens With Eating Disorders

NN-RCT
Start date: September 17, 2022
Phase: Early Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

Using a randomized, placebo-controlled, crossover study, this study will evaluate functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) as a pharmacodynamic biomarker of opioid antagonism in adolescents with eating disorders. The hypothesis is that fMRI will be able to detect acute reward pathway modulation by naltrexone (an opioid antagonist) in pre-defined regions of interest (anterior cingulate cortex, nucleus accumbens, dorsolateral prefrontal cortex).

NCT ID: NCT05073679 Enrolling by invitation - Eating Disorders Clinical Trials

Oral Naltrexone In Pediatric Eating Disorders

ONPED
Start date: April 22, 2022
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of oral naltrexone tablets in pediatric and adolescent eating disorders, in particular anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa, as compared to placebo. Study participants will be patients in a partial hospitalization program or intensive outpatient program for eating disorder.

NCT ID: NCT04862247 Recruiting - Anorexia Nervosa Clinical Trials

Online Relapse Prevention Study

ORP
Start date: June 4, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to collect preliminary data on the feasibility and acceptability of the randomization of two relapse-prevention treatment conditions after discharge from intensive eating disorder (ED) treatment: an imaginal exposure therapy and a writing and thinking intervention. The second aim to test for (a) differences between the two treatments for the prevention of relapse and (b) preliminary change on clinical ED outcomes (e.g., ED symptoms, fears). The investigators further aim to examine the two treatments target fear extinction and if fear extinction is associated with ED outcomes. The investigators also plan to test if baseline differences in fear conditioning relate to change in ED outcomes across treatment.

Implementation of Evidence-Based Treatment of Restrictive Eating Disorder With Pronounced Starvation

ROCKETLAUNCH
Start date: October 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In the Region Skåne in Sweden, the investigators have developed guidelines for providing intensive and evidence-based treatment during the first month in case of severe restrictive eating disorder with pronounced starvation. The project is aiming at implementing this treatment program in the general Child Psychiatric clinic, with its main focus on the implementation of evidence based family therapy. The study aims to evaluate the implementation of a standardized treatment model during the first month. The outcome will be compared with the patients and families who have been in treatment before the ROCKETLAUNCH project started.

NCT ID: NCT03097874 Completed - Anorexia Nervosa Clinical Trials

Adaptive Treatment for Adolescent Anorexia Nervosa

Start date: September 1, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The investigators are conducting a randomized controlled trial using an adaptive design for adolescents (ages 12-18) with anorexia nervosa to compare standard Family Based Treatment (FBT) to adaptive FBT with an Intensive Parental Coaching (IPC) component. If participants do not reach expected milestones by session 4 of treatment, participants may be randomized to receive additional IPC or continue treatment as usual with regular FBT.
