View clinical trials related to Ankle Sprain 2Nd Degree.
Filter by:The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the feasibility of implementing BFR in the rehabilitation treatment of isolated ankle sprains as well as to evaluate the clinical benefits of BFR when compared to standard treatment. This study will evaluate the efficacy of using BFR therapy for the treatment of acute grade I and II ankle sprains. The investigators will evaluate clinical outcomes of range of motion (ROM) and strength testing of ankle dorsiflexion, plantarflexion, inversion, and eversion. This will be a small, randomized control trial study. The investigators will enroll a total of 40 participants, 20 participants will undergo standard physical therapy for isolated lateral ankle sprains and 20 participants will undergo BFR therapy for an isolated lateral ankle sprain. Patients will be randomized into control and experimental group via block randomization.
Ankle sprain is the most common sprain. Their care entails a high cost due to the incapacity for work that it generates. An early and timely intervention for the treatment of ankle sprain reduces the days of disability and functional recovery is faster. Strategies must be generated to provide timely care in rehabilitation. Telerehabilitation is a viable option to partially solve this problem. The purpose of this study is evaluate the effectiveness of functional ankle recovery after a telerehabilitation program in patients with sprain in the first level of care. Material and method: Controlled clinical trial, 92 subjects with grade 1 and 2 ankle sprain will be included; they will be divided into two groups, with randomized allocation. One group will receive usual care (n = 41) for ankle sprain and another will receive regular care plus telerehabilitation (n = 41) through a digital platform course, it will consist of video and written instructions. Foot and Ankle Ability Measure (FAAM) will be measured at baseline and weekly, until completing 4 weeks. Group experience: The group is trained for the development of the contents and the rehabilitation program, with clinical experience in evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of ankle sprain.
Decathlon has developed Ankle STRONG products which are medical devices that must be positioned around the ankle to limit ankle sprain occurrence. The Ankle STRONG devices cover a range of 3 products (Ankle STRONG 100/500/900). The differences between the devices is based on the strength of compression and the ankle maintain. The objective of this multicentre study is to collect data on the related clinical complications and clinical outcomes of market-approved Decathlon Ankle STRONG products to demonstrate safety and performance of these devices in a real-world setting.
Aim of the study is to establish the efficiency of the mulligan concept vs a sham group (who will also serve as control). Patient with an subacute ankle sprains will be assess following the mulligan concept and then randomized in two groups: Mobilization with movement (MWM) group and Sham group. MWM group will receive 3 sets of 10 repetitions of treatment (i.e. passive accessory glide during an active dorsiflexion) while the sham treatment will do 3 sets of 10 active dorsiflexion with the hand of the Physiotherapist only apply on the skin. 3 sessions with 4 days apart will take place. outcomes will be measure before and after every sessions.
Ankle sprain is a fairly common sports medicine clinic. In Taiwan at least 150,000 to 200,000 people will suffer from ankle sprains every years. Clinicians have been looking for ways to shorten treatment time and reduce discomfort. Platelet Rich Plasma(PRP) is an endogenous therapeutic technology that involved in regenerative medicine due to its potential to stimulate and accelerate tissue healing. PRP can release lots of growth factors like platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF),transforming Growth Factor Beta(TGF-β), vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),Epidermal growth factor(EGF) and insulin-like growth factor (IGF). Its use had been based on the theory that increased autologous platelets, that then yield high concentrations of growth factors and other proteins, will lead to increased healing of tendon and soft tissue on a cellular level. In addition, there is no objective evaluation after treatment, so that patients can not provide effective and accurate quantitative feedback. In this study, the investigators divided patients into three groups, respectively, general rehabilitation therapy, autologous PRP injection therapy, autologous PRP injection combined with general rehabilitation therapy.
