Filter by:The objective of the present project is to develop complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) for The Chang Gung Dementia Center to alleviate the symptoms and signs of patients with Alzheimer Disease, an approach aiming at decreasing the burden on family, society and nation.
The purpose of this study is to compare two methods for remote genetic counseling (telephone and two-way videoconferencing) for patients who are receiving disclosure of their APOE (apolipoprotein E) genotype. The target population will consist of males and females in the age range of 60-75 years who, as potential participants in a study (Generation Study), will need to receive genetic counseling and disclosure of APOE genotype. Subjects must be willing to receive genetic counseling and disclosure remotely. Subjects must be willing to be randomized to either telephone arm or videoconference arm.
The present single center clinical chronobiological study on 24 subjects (12 patients with mild to moderate form of Alzheimer's disease and 12 Healthy subjects) aims at characterizing the ADDIA biomarkers: a) blood cell‐based biomarkers measured by flow cytometry using proprietary probes specific of two targeted biomarkers, beta‐Amyloid (Aβ) peptide and a kinase, and b) circulating biomarkers in peripheral body fluids. The biomarkers will be analyzed on samples taken at different time points of the day, including under fasting and non-fasting conditions and at two periods: day 1 and day 14.
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease leading to one of the most common forms of dementia in humans and memory disorder is one of the first symptoms that lead to diagnosis.
A Phase 1, Randomized, Open-Label, 3-Way Crossover, Pilot, Pharmacokinetic Study to Evaluate the Steady State Pharmacokinetics of a Once-Weekly Application of Corplex Donepezil Transdermal Delivery System (TDS) Compared to Daily Oral Administration of Aricept in Healthy Adult Subjects
The study will implement and test a unique Virtual Reality Cognitive Training (VRCT) combined with concurrent cycling on a recumbent stationary cycle, also known as exergame that seamlessly integrates specific cognitive tasks into a virtual environment and is synchronized with cycling to promote cognition.
This study is intended to examine the impact of learning amyloid brain imaging results among asymptomatic older adults, and how to safely communicate these results and educate on the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease.
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and initial efficacy of Transcranial Electromagnetic Treatment (TEMT) in patients with mild/moderate Alzheimer's Disease. Throughout a 2-month treatment period, patients will be evaluated for cognitive performance, brain energy utilization, functional brain imaging, and blood/cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) markers for Alzheimer's Disease. Since all patients will receive TEMT, each patient's baseline measurements will serve as their own control for any treatment effects.
clinical trial to assess the efficacy of Acetyl-L-carnitine
This research will be achieved by the assessment of p75NTR-ECD expression (total and linked to different species of Aβ (Aβ1-40 and Aβ-1-42)) within the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of patients with AD dementia, mild cognitive impairment (MCI) due to AD, frontotemporal dementia and non-neurodegenerative dementia.
