Filter by:This study aims to guide older people living in the community on appropriate strategies within a fall prevention program. This program is aimed at training in physical exercises carried out through group workshops or at preventing risk situations at home.
In this observational study, a motion monitoring system including body-worn sensors, communication portals, data capture system, and algorithms will be tested with geriatric patients in Garrison Geriatric Education and Care Center (Lubbock, TX). The study is part of a long-term effort to improve the quality of life and safety of geriatric patients by using autonomous systems that can alert care givers of mobility issues and falls.
Objective of the study is to evaluate the effect of a multimodal therapy on the basis of current guidelines on fall prevention consisting of a 12-months intervention with Alfacalcidol and calcium, patient education and a mobility program in a group of patients 65 years of age or older with an impaired renal function in comparison to a group receiving usual care.
