burn
Start date: September 30, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Sixty patients with 25-45 years of age presenting post burn inhalation injury, randomly distributed into two equal groups, 30 patients for each group. control group receive conventional chest physiotherapy (diaphragmatic respiratory exercises, apical breathing exercises) for (15-20) minutes 3times/week and medical treatment for 4 weeks as a total period of treatment. study group will receive pilates exercise in addition to their conventional chest physiotherapy for (15-20) minutes 3times/week and medical treatment for 4 weeks as a total period of treatment, computerized spirometer assessment before treatment are ( The following variables were measured: forced vital capacity (PVC%) and forced ·expiratory volume in one second (FEVl %) and peak expiratory flow (PEF %)and after one month

NCT ID: NCT05886270 Enrolling by invitation - Home Injury Clinical Trials

Implementation of the Child Housing Assessment for a Safe Environment

CHASE
Start date: June 24, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This implementation study uses a multi-method quantitative and qualitative, non-experimental design to estimate the magnitude of home injury risks, identify strategies for addressing those risks and sustaining those interventions, and to calculate the costs of housing-related modifications to prevent childhood home injuries. The study objectives are to: Aim 1. Implement injury prevention measures based on safety hazards identified using the CHASE Tool within 300 low-income households (at or below 80% AMI) in Baltimore City or County; Aim 2. Determine the costs of the injury prevention measures completed by residents and/or professional providers; Aim 3. Conduct a formative evaluation using mixed methods to 3a. determine feasibility of incorporating injury prevention into residential programs from the perspective of installers and residents, including identifying barriers and facilitators, and 3b. understand the consistency of implementing and maintaining the injury prevention measures across referral sources, by residents and staff.

NCT ID: NCT05885529 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Traumatic Brain Injury

Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein (GFAP) and Ubiquitin Carboxy-terminal Hydrolase L1 (UCH-L1) to Exclude Lesions Linked to Significant Traumatic Brain Injuries

GUEST
Start date: April 1, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The goal of this observational study is to evaluate the performance of UCH-L1 and GFAP combined in patients with a mild traumatic brain injury. The main question : • Does the combination of UCH-L1 and GFAP can exclude brain injuries detected with CT scan in the first twelve hours after a mild traumatic brain injury? Participants will do the exams planed in routine care and : - during the expected blood sampling an additional blood sample will be done, - seven days after the discharge a call will be done by the investigator.

NCT ID: NCT05884125 Recruiting - Nerve Injury Clinical Trials

Promoting Healing of Injured Nerves With Electrical Stimulation Therapy

PHINEST
Start date: June 12, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study is evaluating a new therapeutic use of electrical stimulation to promote nerve healing and improve functional recovery following surgical intervention for peripheral nerve injury in arm. Participants will be randomized into one of two groups, treatment or control, with all participants receiving standard of care treatment for the nerve injury. The treatment group will also receive a single dose of the therapeutic stimulation during the surgical intervention for their nerve injury.

NCT ID: NCT05883917 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Spinal Cord Injuries

Clinical Utility of Robot-Assisted Gait Training in Patients With Spinal Cord Injury Caused by Electrical Burns: A Case Report

Start date: June 15, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Robot-assisted gait training has been effective in several diseases. Nevertheless, evidence supporting the efficacy of such training in burn patients remains insufficient. This report aimed to evaluate the effect of robot-assisted gait training in burn patients with spinal cord injuries caused by electrical trauma. We will report a case of two patients who underwent 30 min of robot-assisted gait training using SUBAR® (Cretem, Korea) with 30 min of conventional physiotherapy, 5 days a week for 12 weeks.

NCT ID: NCT05882539 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Oral Mucosal Pressure Injury

Oral Mucosal Pressure Injury in ICU Patients With Oral Tracheal Intubation

Start date: January 1, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

In this study, based on the conceptual framework of Pressure Injurie development, the risk factors for pressure injury in critically ill patients provided by the latest guidelines, and combined with the current relevant studies on mucosal pressure injury, we prospectively observed and collected clinical data related to tracheal intubation patients in the ICU, analyzed the risk factors for the occurrence of oral MPI, and established a risk prediction model to help clinical and nursing staff to detect and actively prevent oral MPI at an early stage The study aims to improve the quality of nursing management, enhance the level of nursing services and improve patient satisfaction.

NCT ID: NCT05879432 Recruiting - Acute Kidney Injury Clinical Trials

LSALT Peptide for Prevention or Attenuation of Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) in Patients Undergoing On-Pump Cardiac Surgery

Start date: March 8, 2024
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

To evaluate the percentage of subjects with AKI within 7 days following on-pump cardiac surgery defined by the KDIGO (Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes) criteria: 1. Increase in baseline (pre-surgery) serum creatinine (SCr) by ≥26.5 μmol/L (≥0.3 mg/dL) within 7 days; OR 2. Increase in baseline SCr to ≥1.5 times baseline, which is known or presumed to have occurred within the first 7 days following surgery; OR 3. Urine output < 0.5 mL/kg/h for >6 hours.

NCT ID: NCT05878509 Completed - Trauma Clinical Trials

Reliability and Validity of the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia

Start date: November 29, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of this study was to investigate the validity and reliability of the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia (TSK) in patients with traumatic hand and forearm injuries. A total of 170 patients with traumatic hand-forearm injuries with a mean age of 37.57±11.85 (18-63) years were included in the study. TSK, Pain Catastrophizing Scale (PCS) and Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) were applied to the patients in the first session. Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia was re-administered 15 days after the first session. Test-retest reliability, internal consistency, and construct validity of the TSK were evaluated. In addition, exploratory factor analysis was applied.

NCT ID: NCT05878145 Completed - Clinical trials for Spinal Cord Injuries

Study on Rehabilitation Exercise Program for Community-based Spinal Cord Injury Patients

Start date: May 27, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In the case of spinal cord injury, patients have shown a passive attitude towards participating in leisure sports or exercise programs, and there is a lack of suitable guidelines or experience in the local community for coaching exercise and sports for spinal cord injury patients, which makes coaches feel burdened when coaching these patients. Therefore, in this study, a suitable comprehensive exercise program will be designed and prescribed for patients who reside in the local community and want to participate in leisure sports, and the effectiveness and safety of the program will be verified. Based on the results, the aim of the study is to provide evidence that spinal cord injury patients can exercise safely and confidently in the local community in the future.
