Filter by:The World Health Organization (WHO) and professional societies recommend restricted episiotomy instead of routine episiotomy. However, since the 1990s, there has been evidence of the risks of the procedure, and although routine use has no benefit, it is still widely used. In this study, investigators aimed to determine the effect of episiotomy on the wound healing process and pain perception by providing episiotomy wound healing and genital hygiene training with training material created to raise awareness about wound care after episiotomy and to eliminate factors that delay the healing of episiotomy wound.
Spinal cord injury (SCI) is devastating event, the individual become significant burden on their family and society SCI is impairments of sensory, motor and autonomic functions. There is no proper cure and care after SCI, no proper assessment and treatment is present in under developed countries Cross sectional study design will be used and 75 patients included in this study. The population included age 21-55 years, both gender included, teraplegic with lesion level C5-C7, Mini Mental State of Examination ≥24, patient should be medically stable. The patient excluded with history of peripheral nerve lesion as brachial pluxes impairment. For assessment of hand function tools should be used tenodesis grip strength is assessed Graded Redefined Assessment of Strength sensibility and prehension (GRASSP test), and functional hand recovery assessed by jebsen_Taylor Hand function test (JTHFT_IT), hand dynamo meter for grip strength, Action Arm reach test for hand function and spinal cord independence measure will be used. Pearson correlation will be uses to find the association between hand grip strength and functional activities of hand. The collected data will be analyzed by using SPSS 23.
Chest trauma remains an issue for health services for both severe and apparently mild trauma management. Severe chest trauma is associated with high mortality and is liable for 25% of mortality in multiple traumas. Moreover, mild trauma is also associated with significant morbidity, especially in patients with preexisting conditions. Thus, whatever the severity, a fast-acting strategy must be organized. In order to improve the prognosis of patients with severe chest trauma, early and continuous application of non-invasive mechanical ventilation (NIV) can indeed reduce the need for intubation and shorten intensive care unit length-of-stay. Among different mechanisms, the early use of positive end-expiratory pressure after chest trauma, when feasible, seems mandatory to optimize oxygenation and improve clinical outcomes. Indeed, interventions aimed at preventing ARDS after chest trauma carry the greatest potential to reduce the substantial morbidity, mortality, and resource utilization associated with this syndrome.
Case control study, investigating what hand function and sensory function do patients perform 3-10 years following digital nerve injury and repair. The aim is to investigate if hand function is more limited following digital nerve injury in the thumb, index- and little finger, compared to less unburdened sensory surfaces in the fingers. Secondary aim is to investigate the long term sensory function following digital nerve injury.
The FIFA 11 + is an injury prevention that has shown to improve physical performance and prevent injuries in male futsal players, however, this injury prevention program has not been tested in female futsal players. The investigators aim to test the effects of the FIFA 11 + program on physical performance and injury prevention in female futsal players.
The aim of this research is to find out the factors associated with musculoskeletal injuries among office workers and also determine whether Functional Movement Screen (FMS) can predict musculoskeletal injuries or not? Prospective Cohort study will be done at the offices of Rawalpindi. The sample size is 208. Study duration will be of 6 months. Non probability Purposive Sampling will be used. Tools used in the study are FMS, Fat Caliper, Weighing machine & Inches tape. Data will be analyzed through SPSS 23.
The specific aims of this study are to: - describe how many heel raises and side hops TG athletes of various ages can perform and how far they can jump, one leg at a time. - examine how calf muscle endurance and hop performance are related to the risk of new injuries in the foot, ankle, and lower leg in TG athletes. The investigators hypothesise that atletes with superior performance in the tests for muscular endurance and hop performance will report fewer injuries during the follow up period.

OCE-205 is being tested to treat participants who have developed Hepatorenal Syndrome-Acute Kidney Injury as a complication of cirrhosis with ascites. The study aims are to evaluate the safety and efficacy of OCE-205 at various doses. Participants will receive treatment by intravenous infusion. Participants will continue with this treatment until participants meets primary endpoint or any discontinuation criteria.
