Filter by:The investigators primary outcome was to evaluate the effectiveness in term of Overall Survival (OS) and disease free interval (DFI) of two different platinum-based chemotherapic regimen (3 and 6 cycles) for treatment of Locally Advanced Cervical Cancer (LACC) (IB2-IIB) previously treated with Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy Plus Radical Surgery (NACT+RS). The secondary outcome was to evaluate and compare safety, in term of toxicity profile, of the two treatment options.
Patients 18 years of age and older with clinical stages IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB, IVA cervical carcinoma limited to the pelvis will receive twice daily oral nelfinavir (NFV) and weekly IV cisplatin in combination as radiosensitizers with daily whole pelvic external beam and intracavitary radiation brachytherapy.

The goal of this clinical research study is to learn if the combination of topotecan and pazopanib can help to control recurrent cervical cancer. The safety of the study drug combination will also be studied.
This study will evaluate the effectiveness of portable colposcopy when compared to conventional colposcopy (25x magnification of the cervix, the gold standard) and Visualization Inspection with Acetic acid (VIA, with 1x magnification, the accepted low-resource method). Half the participants will be evaluated for cervical pathology by portable colposcopy after VIA assessment, while the other half will be evaluated by conventional colposcopy. This study also will use collected lab specimens for human papillomavirus (HPV)-positive women to determine those HPV genotypes most prevalent among higher grade disease cases (CIN II+) and among the sub-group of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-positive women.
Objectives: Primary Objective: To perform a pilot clinical study to test multi-modal optical imaging for detection of cervical neoplasia in Brazil. Secondary Objective: Analyze clinical data to establish the imaging modes which demonstrate the highest degree of correlation with disease state.
Compass is a randomised controlled trial of primary HPV testing for cervical cancer screening in Australia. A pilot study involving 5,000 women was carried out in 2013-2014. The trial will involve recruiting 76,300 women from primary health clinics. Women aged 25-69, attending for cervical screening or for routine follow-up will be invited to participate in the 2-arm trial. A liquid-based cytology (LBC) sample will be taken from consenting women and sent to VCS Pathology. Women will be randomised in a 1:2 parallel group allocation to LBC and HPV arms using randomisation with the minimisation procedure, with stratification by birth cohort according to whether offered HPV vaccination in Australia's national publicly-funded HPV vaccination program (date of birth >=July 1st 1980 and <1st July 1980). In the LBC (active control) arm, women will undergo 2.5 yearly image read cytology screening with reflex HPV triage testing for low grade cytology. In the HPV (intervention) arm women will undergo 5 yearly HPV screening with partial genotyping enabling separate identification of HPV16 and HPV18 and referral of this group for diagnostic evaluation, and secondary randomisation of "intermediate risk" women testing positive for oncogenic HPV (but not HPV 16 or 18) to either image read LBC screening or dual-stained (DS) cytology testing with p16/Ki67. The laboratory reports issued to practitioners will specify the recommended management for women, according to study arm and test results.Participating women will be flagged and clinical outcomes will be tracked via the Compass Register. Data linkage between the Compass Register and HPV vaccination records held on the Australian Immunisation Register will be performed in order to integrate vaccination and screening histories for trial participants. Participants will be actively followed for an anticipated 5 years from the time of recruitment and the primary outcome is based on the total cumulative detection of CIN3+ after exit testing at 5 years. The anticipated study completion date of March 2027 takes into consideration the final migration of participants to the National Cancer Screening Register and allows for two years to follow-up any intermediate risk results occurring in the last of the recruited trial participants.
This study will investigate the types of HPV in samples from women with cervical pre-cancer and cancer and gather information to help investigate the impact of HPV vaccination in Switzerland.
Currently conservative treatment for patients of childbearing affected by cervical cancer is reserved for women with FIGO stage IA2 - IB1 with tumor size less than 2 cm . The trachelectomy and the cone biopsy with pelvic lymphadenectomy are the choice for these patients wishing to preserve their reproductive function. In this context , recently literature show the results about the use of neo-adjuvant chemotherapy about the reduction of tumor volume and therefore the magnitude of the subsequent surgical treatment (including patients with tumors larger than 2 cm ). So it becomes crucial a prospective analysis on the possibility to include in this type of treatment patients with stage IB1 and IIA1 with tumor size greater than 2 cm ( up to 4 cm ) . The current study , in fact , would like to do a prospective evaluation on the advantages of neo-adjuvant chemotherapy in the possibility of broadening the inclusion criteria to conservative treatment in women , suffering from cervical cancer, stage IB1 and IIA1 ( with tumor volume between 2 and 4 cm) and wishing to preserve their reproductive function.
