Filter by:This trial is a translational, open-label, multicentric, prospective cohort study of 900 patients aiming to describe the PD-1 (programmed death) expression in T cells (T lymphocytes) in different solid tumors. The study will be conducted on a population of patients with local and/or metastatic malignant solid tumor and who are followed within a standard of care procedure or clinical trial. Patients with any of the following tumor types may be enrolled in the trial: - Head and neck cancer, - Ovarian cancer, - Cervical cancer, - Pre-invasive CIN III cervical cancer (Cervical Intra-epithelial Neoplasia III cervical cancer), - Other solid tumor types (including glioblastoma, NSCLC (Non-small cell lung cancer), anal cancer) Each tumor type will be considered as an independent cohort. For each included patient, biological specimen (tumor sample, blood samples and ascites samples if applicable) will be collected. Study participation of each patient will be 5 years.
Prospective, monocentric study evaluating the impact of a nurse-led sexological follow-up on sexual function in patients with cervix or vaginal cancer treated by radiotherapy and brachytherapy. The study procedure will consist of nurse-led sexological consultations, beginning before brachytherapy and until 2 months after brachytherapy. Evolution of female sexual function and vaginal symptoms will be done through clinical examinations and completion of quality of life and female sexual function questionnaires during radiation oncologist consultation and/or nurse-led sexological consultations until one year after end of brachytherapy. Study participation of each patient will be 12 months.
To investigate the value of prophylactic extended-field irradiation (EFI), we conduct a randomized clinical trial to compare the efficacy and toxicity of pelvic irradiation and prophylactic EFI in selected patients with cervical cancer treated with definitive concurrent chemoradiotherapy. External beam radiation therapy is delivered with intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT).
Cervical cancer is the most common cause of death from gynecological cancer world-wide. With technological innovation, minimally invasive or even non-invasive medical treatment has become a trend. Since the first cases of laparoscopic radical hysterectomy of cervical cancer have been reported in 1992, many single-center observational cohort studies have shown that compared to open abdominal surgery ,minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopic or robotic radical hysterectomy) showed advantages of less blood loss, shorter hospital stay and fewer intraoperative complications, while the 5-year survival and disease-free survival were similar. The NCCN guidelines and ESGO recommendations also clearly indicated that patients with FIGO stage IA2 -IIA cervical cancer could undergo open or laparoscopic/robotic radical hysterectomy. However, in October 2018, the results of two studies published in the《New England Journal of Medicine》have subverted our traditional perception of minimally invasive surgery and caused widespread controversy in the field of gynecologic oncology treatment. Both studies showed that the survival rate in the minimally invasive surgery group was lower than that in the open surgery group. The results of these two studies have brought unprecedented doubts and challenges to the minimally invasive surgery for cervical cancer. The MD Anderson Cancer Center has even stopped minimally invasive surgery for cervical cancer. Several hospitals in Hong Kong have responded similarly. The NCCN guidelines are also quickly updated based on the results of those studies: patients should be informed of the results of this study and doctors should respect the patient's choices. The above research results have also attracted the attention of many gynecological oncologists in the mainland China. Some experts questioned the design of this study design as well as surgical skills. We need to look at these findings cautiously. So, we launched a real-world study of clinical outcomes affected by different surgical treatment for patients of early stage cervical cancer. We plan to recruit 2000 patients with early cervical cancer from 20-30 selected surgical centers nationwide and perform surgery on patients with qualified and experienced doctors.We will inform the patients current status of the study in detail, divide the patients into different observational group according to their choices on surgical methods. The patients will be followed up closely after surgery. We will compare the differences in clinical outcomes between the two surgical methods and conduct subgroup and stratified analysis. We hope that this study can truly reflect the actual status and clinical l level of early cervical cancer treatment in China, and provide a high level of clinical evidence for the treatment of cervical cancer in China .
The purpose of this study is to determine if the human papillomavirus (HPV) deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) testing, performed on self-collected vaginal swabs, is acceptable, feasible, and sensitive and specific in detection of high-grade cervical lesions among Kenyan women, compared to the current standard of care.
This phase II clinical study was designed to evaluate the immunogenicity and safety of Recombinant Human Papillomavirus Vaccine (6,11,16,18,31,33,45,52,58 Type)(E.Coli)(hereafter called HPV vaccine), manufactured by Xiamen Innovax Biotech CO., LTD., in healthy adults aged 18-45 years old.
Cervical cancer in HIV-positive women is largely preventable through regular screening. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends cervical screening for HIV-positive women every three years. Currently the least costly method for screening and the most viable option for many countries is visual inspection after application of acetic acid (VIA). Alternative testing methods are HPV testing and assessment with a portable magnification device. The investigators plan to assess and compare the screening test accuracy of these screening tests in women living with HIV. All women will receive histopathology reference standard.
Lesions classified as "High Grade Squamous Intra-epithelial Lesions" (HSIL) are pre-cervical lesions of the cervix, induced by infection with the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). The detection and proper management of these lesions greatly reduces the incidence of invasive cervical cancer. Pap smear remains the most effective tool for early detection of low and high-grade cervical lesions. In Belgium, screening for cervical cancer is recommended every 3 years for women between 25 and 65 years old. HPV is a virus who possesses certain oncogenic genes who have the ability to inactivate tumor suppressor genes in the host cell. This promotes a tumorigenesis process within the tissues affected by the virus. The majority of human papillomavirus infections are transient and spontaneously cleared by host defense mechanisms, especially in the first two years after exposure. However, 10-20% of infections persist latently and may eventually lead to progression to invasive cervical cancer. Even high-grade lesions kan naturally be cleared, even more so if the patient is young and immuno-competent. Therefore, the management of HSIL lesions in young women has been modified and consists of adopting mainly a conservative attitude, with controls every 6 months for 2 years. This management makes it possible to avoid unnecessary conizations of the cervix which, in young nulliparous patients, are not devoid of heavy obstetric consequences during subsequent pregnancies (premature birth, perinatal mortality). Cervical conization will only be considered for lesions that progress during follow-up or that persist beyond 2 years. However, this type of follow-up requires that patients be compliant. Our study has two main objectives: - to determine the compliance of CHU Brugmann Hospital patients who have been proposed a conservative strategy for the management of HSIL lesions. - to identify the predictive factors for the persistence and / or progression of high-grade pre-cancerous dysplastic lesions.

This is a multicenter, open-label, single-arm study of efficacy, safety and pharmacokinetics of BCD-100 (JSC BIOCAD, Russia) in combination with platinum-based chemotherapy and bevacizumab as first-line treatment in patients with recurrent/persistent or metastatic cervical cancer.
