A Trial Using Velcade Plus Chemoradiation for Central Nervous System, Head and Neck, and Cervical Cancer Patients

Start date: September 2005
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine the safety of Velcade when used with chemoradiation in cancer patients.

NCT ID: NCT00322920 Terminated - Cervix Cancer Clinical Trials

Efficacy Study of Weekly Topotecan With Cisplatin in Advanced Stage or Recurrent Cervical Cancer

Start date: July 2005
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of topotecan when given weekly with cisplatin in patients with persistent, recurrent, or advanced stage cervical cancer. Secondary purposes are to describe the toxicity profile in patients with persistent, recurrent, or advanced stage cervical cancer treated with the combination of topotecan when given weekly with cisplatin and to determine the response rate and time to progression in patients with persistent, recurrent, or advanced stage cervical cancer treated with the combination of topotecan when given weekly with cisplatin.

NCT ID: NCT00320983 Completed - Cervical Cancer Clinical Trials

Study of Adjuvant Topotecan and Cisplatin With Concurrent Radiation Therapy for Advanced Cervical Cancer

Start date: March 2002
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

A Phase I Study of Adjuvant Topotecan and Cisplatin with Concurrent Radiation Therapy for Advanced Cervical Cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00319748 Completed - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Study of Immune Response Modifier in the Treatment of Breast, Ovarian, Endometrial and Cervical Cancers

Start date: April 2006
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the anti-tumor activity of 852A when used to treat metastatic breast, ovarian, endometrial or cervical cancer not responding to standard treatment.

NCT ID: NCT00319462 Recruiting - Cervical Cancer Clinical Trials

Localization of Point A in Cervical Cancer

Start date: November 2006
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Point A, the major critical point for dose specification of intracavitary brachytherapy, is defined as the crossing of uterine artery and ureter in treatment of cervical cancer. However, the currently advocated systems use hypothetical point A (HPA) to estimate the dosimetry of brachytherapy. This study is to localize anatomic point A (APA) of cervical cancer patients for reference of radiotherapy. We will use laparoscopic clipping technique to localize APA for cervical cancer patients during pelvic and paraaortic lymph node sampling. When these patients are receiving brachytherapy, orthogonal radiographs will be obtained after insertion of tandem and colpostats by using Henschke afterloading applicators.

NCT ID: NCT00315861 Completed - Lung Cancer Clinical Trials

Topotecan in Combination With Pemetrexed in Patients With Advanced Malignancies

Start date: March 2006
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

Currently, no data exists regarding the safety and tolerability of a combination regimen utilizing weekly topotecan in combination with pemetrexed. Although both drugs are associated with myelosuppression, it is hoped that the utilization of the weekly topotecan dosing schedule will allow the drugs to be easily combined. This phase I trial will evaluate the safety and tolerability of weekly topotecan in combination with pemetrexed in patients with advanced solid tumors.

NCT ID: NCT00310115 Completed - Lung Cancer Clinical Trials

Motivational Counseling in Preventing Smoking Relapse After Pregnancy in Pregnant Women Who Quit Smoking During Pregnancy

Start date: April 2002
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

RATIONALE: Motivational counseling may help prevent pregnant women from smoking again after pregnancy. PURPOSE: This randomized clinical trial is studying three different types of counseling to see how well they work in preventing smoking relapse after pregnancy in pregnant women who quit smoking during pregnancy.

NCT ID: NCT00303823 Completed - Cervical Cancer Clinical Trials

Green Tea Extract in Preventing Cervical Cancer in Patients With Human Papillomavirus and Low-Grade Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia

Start date: September 2005
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This randomized phase II trial is studying green tea extract to see how well it works compared to a placebo in preventing cervical cancer in patients with human papillomavirus and low-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. Chemoprevention is the use of certain substances to keep cancer from forming, growing, or coming back. The use of green tea extract may stop cervical cancer from forming in patients with human papillomavirus and low-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. It is not yet known whether green tea extract is more effective than a placebo in preventing cervical cancer in patients with human papillomavirus and low-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia.

NCT ID: NCT00299481 Recruiting - Ovarian Neoplasms Clinical Trials

Tissue Bank of Biological Specimens From Patients With Gynecologic Disease

Start date: March 2006
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to create a tissue bank of gynecologic cancers and normal tissue for the study of cancer in order to better understand the changes occurring on a molecular level (DNA, RNA, protein) that lead to the development of cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00298064 Withdrawn - Cervical Cancer Clinical Trials

Start date: December 2005
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The Tissue Repository will search for cases, pull slides, Paraffin-embedded tissue (PET) blocks.
