The Assessment of POCD After TURBT Under Spinal Anesthesia

This study evaluates the influence of premedication on cognitive functions in patients undergoing transurethral resection of bladder tumor under spinal anesthesia. The aims of premedication are anxiolysis, analgesia and the reduction of perioperative risk among the patients with comorbidities. The patients will be randomly allocated to receive premedication either with opioid solely or with benzodiazepine combined with opioid. The anesthetic technique is standardized.

This is a prospective study enrolling consecutive patients who undergo transurethral resection of the bladder tumour (TURBT) aimed at determination of a safety of the procedure. Study end-points are incidence, severity and predictive factors of surgical complications. The study secondary aim is a validation of Clavien Dindo scoring system for reporting complication of TURBT.

QUILT-3.032: A Multicenter Clinical Trial of Intravesical Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) in Combination With ALT-803 (N-803) in Patients With BCG Unresponsive High Grade Non-Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer

This is a Phase II/III, open-label, single-arm, multicenter study of intravesical BCG plus N-803 or N-803 only in patients with BCG unresponsive high grade non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). All patients treated in the study will receive via a urinary catheter in the bladder, BCG plus N-803 or N-803 only weekly for 6 consecutive weeks (initial induction treatment period). After the first disease assessment, eligible patients will receive either a 3-week maintenance course or a 6-week re-induction course (second treatment period) at Month 3. Eligible patients will continue to receive maintenance treatment in the third treatment period at Months 6, 9, 12, and 18. Eligible patients have the option to receive maintenance treatment in the fourth treatment period at Months 24, 30, and 36. The study duration is 60 months.

Confocal Laser Endomicroscopy in the Lower Urinary Tract

Rationale: Cystoscopy and cytology, the current 'gold standard' for detection and follow-up of primary and recurrent bladder cancer have some limitations. CLE, a high resolution imaging technique, that can be used combined with endo-urological procedures, seems promising to improve diagnosis of bladder cancer. The diagnostic accuracy of cystoscopic applied confocal laser endomicroscopy (CLE) still has to be defined. Objective: To directly correlate CLE images with histopathology, and identify and define CLE characteristics of normal urothelium, benign bladder urothelium, and bladder tumors (low-grade, high-grade and carcinoma in situ (CIS)) of the lower urinary tract. Primary objective: to develop descriptive image interpretation criteria and a classification of CLE images of bladder tissue through a review of prospectively obtained CLE videos from bladder tissue correlated with histopathology. Secondary objectives: - Assessing procedure related adverse events of CLE - Assessing technical feasibility of CLE - To develop a CLE image atlas for urothelium of the lower urinary tract (normal, benign, low-grade or high-grade and CIS)

This study will help to elucidate the treatment sites in the extremities and pelvis for which MR-guided HIFU heating is feasible, which has the potential to be beneficial for patients with conditions at those sites (soft tissue sarcoma, cervical cancer, etc.). The investigators anticipate that successful completion of this study will lead to clinical trials in those feasible sites of interest to determine the safety and efficacy of administering therapeutic levels of heat for hyperthermia or other applications.

By preventing tumour fragmentation and ascertaining complete tumour resection by histological assessment of the EBR specimen, we hypothesized that EBR could reduce disease recurrence as compared to SR.
