Robotic Radical Cystectomy Outcomes

Currently, in the treatment of bladder cancer the use of robotics has entered in clinical practice, therefor robotic radical cystectomy with or without reconstruction is offered to patients during counseling procedures, if deemed appropriate and possible. The aim of the study is therefore the long-term evaluation of the peri-post-operative, oncological and functional results of patients undergoing radical cystectomy, both with an open and robotic approach. This study will thus help to clarify the actual impact of robotic surgery

Study of ESG401 in Adults With Solid Tumors

The primary objective in Phase I is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of ESG401 as a single agent administered in 21-day treatment cycles in previously treated participants with advanced epithelial cancer. In Phase II, the primary objective is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of ESG401 administered in 21-day treatment cycles at a dose selected in Phase I. Tumor types in the study will include: cervical, colorectal, endometrial, ovarian, esophageal, gastric adenocarcinoma, glioblastoma multiforme, head and neck cancers- squamous cell, hepatocellular, prostate, non-small-cell lung cancer, pancreatic, renal cell, small-cell lung cancer, non-triple negative breast cancer (non-TNBC), triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) and metastatic urothelial cancer (mUC).

Preoperative Bintrafusp Alfa in Operable Urothelial Carcinoma of the Bladder

PEBBLE is an open-label, international, multicentre, window of opportunity phase II trial that aims to evaluate the effects of short-term preoperative therapy with bintrafusp alfa in patients with histologically confirmed urothelial carcinoma requiring radical surgery with bilateral pelvic lymph node dissection. Eligible patients will receive 4 doses of bintrafusp alfa (1200mg flat dose) at 14 day intervals before undergoing radical surgery. Patients will attend study visits at 6, 12 and 24 weeks following their surgery. After the 24-week post-surgical visit, patients will enter a follow up phase during which they will be contacted annually for 2 years after their surgery to collect survival and disease status data. The efficacy of bintrafusp alfa will be assessed on CT/MRI scan images and tumour tissue samples collected at baseline and after treatment with bintrafusp alfa.

Testing the Addition of an Anti-Cancer Immunotherapy Drug, Avelumab, to Gemcitabine and Carboplatin Chemotherapy Prior to Surgery in Muscle Invasive Urinary Tract Cancer vs. Surgery Alone in Patients Who Are Not Able to Receive Cisplatin Therapy (SWOG GAP TRIAL)

This phase II trial studies the effect of avelumab, gemcitabine and carboplatin before surgery compared with surgery alone in treating patients with muscle invasive bladder or upper urinary tract cancer who are not able to receive cisplatin therapy. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as avelumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Chemotherapy drugs, such as gemcitabine and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving avelumab together with gemcitabine and carboplatin before surgery may work better in lowering the chance of muscle invasive urinary tract cancer growing or spreading, in patients who cannot receive cisplatin therapy compared to surgery alone.
