Filter by:The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of a handicraft topical device of negative pressure versus traditional healing treatment for skin ulcers in lower limbs; in patients with diabetes mellitus, venous stasis and arterial insufficiency.
To evaluate the VAC (Vacuum Assisted Closure) therapy in transplants of leg ulcers versus usual dressing method. The VAC Therapy system consists of: - A unit delivering a precise under atmospheric pressure, controlled and regulated in the wound site, - Consumables necessary for the implementation of the dressing, - Collecting tanks exudates with gel. VAC therapy is a system using negative pressure. It is known to be efficient into care of chronic wounds and ulcerous wounds by increasing the cicatrisation. This system is systematically used into the dermatology unit of the CHU of Saint-Etienne after transplants of leg ulcers, but no data confirms the interest of this method compared to usual dressing method. This study will provide this data.
Since their appearance more than a decade ago, anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors have demonstrated beneficial activity in the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). However, more than one-third of patients present primary resistance, and one more third become resistant over time. One of the main factors associated with loss of response is the immunogenicity of anti-TNF biologics leading to the production of antibodies targetting the TNF inhibitor, namely anti-drug antibodies (ADAbs), that accelerate drug elimination from the serum and decrease its therapeutic activity. In this study the investigators propose a medico-economic evaluation of the measurement of anti-TNF agents and anti-drug antibodies serum concentrations in the management of patients with inflammatory bowel disease treated with anti-TNFalpha inhibitors. 280 patients with Crohn's disease (CD) or ulcerative colitis (UC) will be included and randomized in 2 groups with or without drug and ADAbs monitoring. In the monitored group, in case of loss of response, the clinician will use biological informations to adapt the treatment following a simple treatment algorithm. In the unmonitored group, drug and ADAbs measurements will not be transmitted to the clinician. Clinical and economical benefits of the biological monitoring will be evaluated after a follow-up period of two years.
The purpose of this study is to compare the wound closure outcomes of subjects receiving diabetic foot ulcer treatment with and without the use of Biovance®.
To evaluate the real-life effect after 1 year of adalimumab treatment on psychological distress/depression symptoms in moderate-to-severe Ulcerative Colitis (UC) patients.
This is a pilot study. Maximum 30 subjects with a diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) or surgical foot wound will be consented in order to have 20 eligible subjects who will be enrolled and completed the study. Study duration will be three weeks. Patients will be consented and undergo debridement as standard of care at day 0. Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI), Monofilament Sensory Test and Vibration Perception Threshold(VPT) test will be performed only at day 0. Tissue samples will be taken at this visit during standard of care wound debridement and these tissue samples of the wound would normally be removed as part of routine debridement. These tissue samples of the wound will be used for gene expression and bacterial analysis(research). The patient will then receive topical oxygen therapy using the Transcutaneous O2 device (research) with moist wound dressings for 21 days. Moist wound dressings are used as standard of care. Treatment will be initiated during Screening/Baseline visit(day 0) after routine wound debridement, and patient will receive instructions for home use of the device. The patient will be seen for routine wound debridement at days 7, 14, and 21 with a study window of 5 days., Digital photos of the wound, and vascular evaluations (Transcutaneous oxygen measurements and Hyperspectral imaging. will be performed at each study visit(research). Tissue samples will be taken during standard of care wound debridement at every study visit. Results of the data analysis from this project will be used to inform the design of a larger randomized clinical trial.
This is a prospective, single country, multi-center study in participants with ulcerative colitis (UC) treated with adalimumab. Up to 147 participants are enrolled at approximately 20 sites. The baseline assessment is performed prior to the first dose of adalimumab (Visit 1). Study visits are conducted at weeks 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48 and 56 after baseline in accordance with clinical practice. All participants will have one Follow-up for safety approximately 70 days after the last dose of adalimumab.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of vedolizumab intravenous (IV) treatment compared to adalimumab subcutaneous (SC) treatment over a 52-week treatment period.
IBD98-M-2002 is a phase 2a , Randomized, Double blind, Placebo-controlled of IBD98-M Delayed Release capsules in subjects with Mild to Moderately Ulcerative Colitis to investigate the clinical efficacy of IBD98-M delayed release capsules (in a fixed combination) over a 6-week treatment period and 2 weeks follow up.
Ulcerative colitis (UC) is an immune mediated chronic inflammatory bowel disease that results at least in part of an abnormal immune response to environmental factors including the intestinal microbiota. Thus, use of probiotics (microorganisms that are believed to provide health benefits when consume) may restore the gastrointestinal microbiota and reduce intestinal inflammation. Propionibacterium freudenreichii is used for the production of fermented food products (cheese). Some selected strains have strong anti-inflammatory properties. Use of cheese based on a monoxenic culture of anti-inflammatory strain of Propionibacterium freudenreichii may decrease disease activity during ulcerative colitis.
