Influence of an Anti-osteoporotic Drug on Healing After Surgical Repair of Chronic Rotator Cuff Lesions of the Shoulder

This is a prospective, single-center, placebo-controlled, non-comparative, phase II study to evaluate the influence of an adjuvant, intravenous therapy with zoledronic acid (single dose) on healing after arthroscopic repair of chronic rotator cuff tears. The study including its financial support was approved by the medical director of the General Accident Insurance Institution (AUVA) , Dr. Roland Frank. Hypothesis to prove: Adjuvant intravenous therapy with zoledronic acid does improve tendon healing after arthroscopic reconstruction of chronic rotator cuff tears compared to a control group without adjuvant therapy with zoledronic acid.,

Development and Impact of Multivariate Model-based Strategy to Target High-risk Patients of Postoperative Complication

The objective is therefore to create a risk score for ADEs in an orthopedic and traumatological surgery department. The study is an prospective, observational, cohort trial. A first step will consist of: (i) a collection of PIs carried out in an orthopedic and traumatological surgery department for 1 month, (ii) a score of the clinical impact of Pharmacist Interventions using the Clinical, Econnomic and organisationnal scale by method of consensus and (iii) a statistical analysis. Statistical analysis consists of (i) logistic regression modeling, (ii) performance measurement by discrimination and calibration, and internal validation by resampling. In a second step, external validation using a new sample will be performed.

The most commonly identified organism for Surgical Site Infection (SSI) in orthopedic surgery is Staphylococcus aureus but risk factors for mono microbial S.aureus SSI are not well-known. The aim of this study was to evaluated the incidence rate of S. aureus SSI over the years and risk factors of these infections in a french University Hospital.
