NCT ID: NCT03268785 Recruiting - Thyroid Cancer Clinical Trials

Intra-operative Rapid Identification of Lymph Node and Parathyroid

Start date: August 1, 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

During surgery, a fine needle puncture was proceeded when suspicious nodes was found by clinician. Repeat the punction for 2-3 times from different orientation and then, Diff-quik staining or PTH immunochromatographic assay were proceeded for lymph node or parathyroid glands identification. Post-operative pathology outcome was considered as golden standard.

NCT ID: NCT03191188 Recruiting - Thyroid Disease Clinical Trials

A Pilot Feasibility Trial of Thyroid Hormone Replacement in Dialysis Patients

Start date: July 1, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Hypothyroidism, defined by elevated thyrotropin (TSH) levels, is a common endocrine complication of chronic kidney disease that has been associated with impaired quality of life and cardiovascular complications. While levothyroxine is one of the most frequently prescribed medications in chronic kidney disease patients, little is known about its efficacy and safety in this population. This study will investigate 1) whether levothyroxine adequately lowers thyrotropin (TSH) levels to therapeutic target ranges, and 2) if thyroid hormone replacement improves quality of life and cardiovascular markers, without leading to wasting in dialysis patients.

NCT ID: NCT03177902 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Breast Cancer Female

Evaluation of Thyroid Abnormity Incidence and Thyroid Toxicity During Chemotherapy Among Newly Diagnosed Breast Cancer

Start date: June 4, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in China. Even though advances in the field of breast cancer therapeutics, chemotherapy remains the mainstay therapeutic modality. The cytotoxic therapies are generally associated with some immediate or otherwise delayed side effects, such as adverse effects on gastrointestinal, hepatic, renal and hematological systems. The effect of chemotherapy on endocrine system, however, is comparatively less envisaged. Several epidemiological studies show a positive association between plasma thyroid hormones levels and breast cancer risk. Thyroid dysfunction is emerging as a variably common endocrine toxicity of several anticancer drugs. Due to the scarcity of data on the functioning of thyroid gland during chemotherapy in a large scale group, the present study was aimed to investigate the incidence of thyroid abnormity in Chinese women with newly diagnosed breast cancer, and also the effects of chemotherapy on thyroid gland functions or structure in these breast cancer patients undergoing at least four cycles of chemotherapy.

NCT ID: NCT03170804 Recruiting - Thyroid Cancer Clinical Trials

Genomic Profiling of Nodular Thyroid Disease and Thyroid Cancer

Start date: January 1, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

The purpose of this registry is to collect uniform genomics-centered data on patients with nodular thyroid disease and cancer in a prospective fashion. After initial clinical evaluation patients with thyroid nodules will undergo standard ultrasonographic evaluation and a needle biopsy of the thyroid (fine needle aspiration (FNA) or core biopsy) as clinically indicated. Biopsy samples will be evaluated cyto-pathologically. A molecular/genomic profiling will be obtained using Thyroseq v2 test. Surgical treatment will be performed as per clinically determined indications. Standard surgical pathology will be processed and reported per the institutional policy and procedures. A molecular/genomic profiling will be obtained using Thyroseq v2 on the surgical specimen. All patients undergoing thyroid nodule work-up may be enrolled. The registry will collect patient demographic and clinical data, cytopathology reports, and surgical pathology reports and slides (if/when a review is required).

NCT ID: NCT03167385 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Differentiated Thyroid Carcinoma

Phase 2 Trial of Apatinib Mesylate in Locally Advanced/Metastatic Differentiated Thyroid Carcinoma

Start date: March 22, 2017
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a non-randomized, phase II, open label study of Apatinib Mesylate in patients with with locally advanced or metastatic differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC). The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of apatinib in patients with locally advanced or metastatic differentiated thyroid carcinoma.

NCT ID: NCT03157128 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

A Study of Selpercatinib (LOXO-292) in Participants With Advanced Solid Tumors, RET Fusion-Positive Solid Tumors, and Medullary Thyroid Cancer (LIBRETTO-001)

LIBRETTO-001
Start date: May 2, 2017
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is an open-label, first-in-human study designed to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK) and preliminary anti-tumor activity of selpercatinib (also known as LOXO-292) administered orally to participants with advanced solid tumors, including rearranged during transfection (RET)-fusion-positive solid tumors, medullary thyroid cancer (MTC) and other tumors with RET activation.

NCT ID: NCT03149354 Recruiting - HIV Infections Clinical Trials

Prevalence of Thyroid Function Abnormalities in HIV-infected Patients

THYVI
Start date: December 19, 2012
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Review the evolution of thyroid function in HIV-infected patients, with sufficient follow-up.

NCT ID: NCT03131726 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Graves Ophthalmopathy

Treatment of Graves´Ophthalmopathy With Simvastatin (GO-S)

Start date: January 26, 2018
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

In an investigator initiated multicenter trial (Malmö, Odense, Århus) the investigators aim at evaluating activity of Graves´ophthalmopathy (GO) and progress to severe GO in patients with mild to moderate Graves´ ophthalmopathy treated with simvastatin or no treatment.
