NCT ID: NCT00000257 Completed - Clinical trials for Substance-Related Disorders

Effects of Alcohol History on Effects of Nitrous Oxide - 9

Start date: September 1995
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to conduct experiments to examine subjective and reinforcing effects of nitrous oxide. Mood altering and psychomotor effects will be tested on non-drug abusers and preference procedures will be used to assess reinforcing effects. Comparisons between nitrous oxide, opiates, and benzodiazepine antagonists will be made. To determine effects of alcohol history on the reinforcing, subjective and psychomotor effects of nitrous oxide in healthy volunteers.

NCT ID: NCT00000256 Completed - Clinical trials for Substance-Related Disorders

Reinforcing Effects of Brief Exposures to Nitrous Oxide - 8

Start date: August 1995
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to conduct experiments to examine subjective and reinforcing effects of nitrous oxide. Mood altering and psychomotor effects will be tested on non-drug abusers and preference procedures will be used to assess reinforcing effects. Comparisons between nitrous oxide, opiates, and benzodiazepine antagonists will be made. To examine reinforcing effects of brief exposures to nitrous oxide in healthy volunteers.

NCT ID: NCT00000255 Completed - Clinical trials for Substance-Related Disorders

Differential Acute Tolerance Development to Effects of Nitrous Oxide - 7

Start date: April 1995
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to conduct experiments to examine subjective and reinforcing effects of nitrous oxide. Mood altering and psychomotor effects will be tested on non-drug abusers and preference procedures will be used to assess reinforcing effects. To examine differential acute tolerance development to effects of nitrous oxide in humans.

NCT ID: NCT00000254 Completed - Clinical trials for Substance-Related Disorders

Isoflurane at Subanesthetic Concentrations - 6

Start date: January 1995
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to conduct experiments to examine subjective and reinforcing effects of nitrous oxide. Mood altering and psychomotor effects will be tested on non-drug abusers and preference procedures will be used to assess reinforcing effects. To test the hypothesis that isoflurane at subanesthetic concentrations does not reduce cold-water immersion pain in healthy volunteers.

NCT ID: NCT00000253 Completed - Clinical trials for Substance-Related Disorders

Effects of Nitrous Oxide: A Dose-Response Analysis - 5

Start date: November 1994
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to conduct experiments to examine subjective and reinforcing effects of nitrous oxide. Mood altering and psychomotor effects will be tested on non-drug abusers and preference procedures will be used to assess reinforcing effects. To examine the subjective, psychomotor, and reinforcing effects of nitrous oxide in healthy volunteers. This is a dose-response analysis.

NCT ID: NCT00000252 Completed - Clinical trials for Substance-Related Disorders

Lack of Acute Tolerance Development to Effects of Nitrous Oxide - 4

Start date: June 1994
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to conduct experiments to examine subjective and reinforcing effects of nitrous oxide. Mood altering and psychomotor effects will be tested on non-drug abusers and preference procedures will be used to assess reinforcing effects. To examine the lack of acute tolerance development to the subjective, cognitive, and psychomotor effects of nitrous oxide in healthy volunteers.

NCT ID: NCT00000251 Completed - Clinical trials for Substance-Related Disorders

Effects of Subanesthetic Concentrations of Isoflurane/Nitrous Oxide - 3

Start date: April 1994
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to conduct experiments to examine subjective and reinforcing effects of nitrous oxide. Mood altering and psychomotor effects will be tested on non-drug abusers and preference procedures will be used to assess reinforcing effects. To evaluate the acute and residual effects of subanesthetic concentrations of isoflurane/nitrous oxide combinations in healthy volunteers.

NCT ID: NCT00000250 Completed - Clinical trials for Substance-Related Disorders

Cold Water Immersion Modulates Reinforcing Effects of Nitrous Oxide - 2

Start date: December 1993
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to conduct experiments to examine subjective and reinforcing effects of nitrous oxide. Mood altering and psychomotor effects will be tested on non-drug abusers and preference procedures will be used to assess reinforcing effects. To evaluate: cold water immersion modulates the reinforcing effects of nitrous oxide in healthy volunteers.

NCT ID: NCT00000249 Completed - Clinical trials for Substance-Related Disorders

Effects of Subanesthetic Concentrations of Nitrous Oxide - 1

Start date: September 1993
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to conduct experiments to examine subjective and reinforcing effects of nitrous oxide. Mood altering and psychomotor effects will be tested on non-drug abusers and preference procedures will be used to assess reinforcing effects. To examine effects of subanesthetic concentrations of nitrous oxide on cold-pressor pain in humans.

NCT ID: NCT00000246 Completed - Clinical trials for Substance-Related Disorders

Rapid Benzodiazepine Detoxification Using Flumazenil - 1

Start date: January 1993
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to verify the hypothesis that the benzodiazepine antagonist, flumazenil, will reduce acute benzodiazepine withdrawal.
