Plyometric Exercises Versus Wii Training In Children With Unilateral Cerebral Palsy

Plyometric training includes muscle contraction that moves rapidly from the eccentric to the concentric phase of movement while using proper biomechanics. It is an effective neuromuscular stimulus that can improve motor functions of children with cerebral palsy. In plyometric training, muscles exert maximum force in short intervals of time, with the goal of increasing power. Commercially available video games have been used for a wide range of clinical populations with generally positive clinical outcomes. They have been shown to be active enough to provide an increase in energy expenditure and physical activity in children with cerebral palsy. Furthermore, an early case study showed improvements in visual-perceptual processing, balance, and mobility in a child with cerebral palsy.

Effectiveness of Basketball Pre-injury Attack Program to Reduce the Susceptibility of Injury in Youth Basketball Players

Basketball is an impact, coordination-opposition sport with continuous contact among players and it is considered a sport of medium-high injury incidence. Players are force to have a physical condition appropriate to their practice and the demand to which they must respond due to the intensity of the efforts this sport requires. In order to achieve this, it is necessary to establish an evaluation protocol that allows the detection of functional deficiencies, to guide and conduct in a specific and early way every moment of players' health and growth. The purpose of this study is to design, apply and analyze the effectiveness of a specific and individualized therapeutic exercise program (Basketball Pre-injury Attack) based on the approach of the functional deficiencies detected by the Basketball Injury Defense, to reduce the susceptibility to injury of youth basketball players (U14 - U17).

A New Dual Task Test Method for Football Players

Multitasking (Dual Task) is a measurement method to evaluate cognitive ability to execute multiple functions at the same time. To perform this test, while participant/patient performing a main skill (for example, walking), a cognitive skill is added (for example, counting 7 backwards from 100) to measure how much the completion performance of the activity is affected. Frequently used multitasking trainings are known as counting back from 100 and asking mathematical equations during a physical skill. Multitasking skill is rarely used in sports-related training, and it is generally used in the form of counting 7 backwards from 100, counting months and counting 5-letter words while walking over obstacles. However, multitasking training methods described and applied in the literature are not specific to football skills. For this reason, limited tests defined and applied in other clinical and sportive fields may not be sufficient in football players who perform activities that require high performance. Therefore, aim of this study is to develop a dual-task assessment method, which includes the cognitive loads experienced by football players during training and matches, and also covers the basic skills of football. As a result of this study, a football-specific dual-task test will be created and the capacity of the athletes will be measured by applying this test to healthy athletes. Also, this test will be conducted on football players with recent knee injury history, who wish to return to sport, and to evaluate their dual-task capacity and to correlate it with kinesiophobia and other performance tests

Investigation of the Acute Effects of Percussive Massage Treatment and Stretching Exercise on Balance and Performance

In this study, it was aimed to investigate the acute effects of Percussion Massage Therapy and stretching exercises on balance, horizontal jumping and performance in healthy individuals. It was planned to include 45 individuals in the study. Participants will be randomly divided into 3 groups. Horizontal jumping distance, T-Drill test and balance assessment will be done for all participants. After the evaluation, percussion massage therapy will be given to the 1st group, dynamic stretching exercises to the 2nd group, and static stretching exercises to the 3rd group. All measurements will be repeated after the intervention.

Comparison of Sciatic Nerve Gliding and Lower Extremity Dynamic Stretch on Hamstring Flexibility of Athletes

In this research, the main purpose is to determine the comparison of acute effect of sciatic nerve gliding and lower extremity dynamic stretching exercises on hamstring flexibility and athletic performance. The participants will be begin with warm-up sessions for 3-5 minutes then baseline data (pre-test): hamstring flexibility will be measured. The order of pre-test will be randomized and same order will be used for post-test. This is a community service addition, added so that everyone in the society can get to know the effects of nerve gliding and lower extremity dynamic stretches on hamstring flexibility, will be cost effective, and will reduce their visits to the therapist. Randomized controlled trial with 1 month follow-up. The sample size is 40. subjects will be divided in two groups, 20 athletes will be given a session of sciatic nerve gliding while lower extremity stretch will be given to remaining 20 athletes. Study duration is of 6 months.Sampling technique employed will be convenient with random assignment. Individuals of age group 18-40 years having male gender regularly exercise at least once a week for 30 minutes. Tools used in the study are Universal inclinometer and Active knee extension test and SLR TEST. Data will be analyzed through IBM SPSS 23
