NCT ID: NCT00275912 Completed - Clinical trials for Epilepsy, Partial Seizures

Efficacy, Safety, and Tolerability of Oxcarbazepine Monotherapy in Children With Partial Seizures

Start date: September 11, 2006
Phase: Phase 4

NCT ID: NCT00266604 Completed - Epilepsy Clinical Trials

A Study to Evaluate the Dosing, Effectiveness and Safety of Topiramate for the Treatment of Epilepsy

Start date: December 2005
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to identify patient characteristics (such as baseline seizure frequency) that may predict effective doses of topiramate using just that one drug (monotherapy) as initial therapy for epilepsy. Topiramate is an anti-epileptic drug that is approved for the treatment of epilepsy in adults and children 2 years of age and above.

NCT ID: NCT00266591 Completed - Epilepsy Clinical Trials

A Study of the Efficacy and Safety of Topiramate Treatment in Patients With Epilepsy

Start date: October 1992
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of topiramate (an antiepileptic medication) in patients with epilepsy.

NCT ID: NCT00255411 Completed - Clinical trials for Non-epileptic Seizures

Psychiatric Correlates of Psychogenic Movement Disorder and Non-Epileptic Seizure

Start date: November 9, 2005
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

This study will explore how the mind and the brain work to cause movement symptoms or seizures in people who do not have a recognized neurological or medical disorder. The study includes a check for psychiatric disorders, symptoms and their severity; psychiatric and personality questionnaires; and neuropsychological testing. Normal, healthy volunteers, people who have movement symptoms not due to a brain or medical disorder and people who have seizures not due to epilepsy may be eligible for this study. All candidates must be 18 years of age or older. All participants have a medical history, physical examination and psychological evaluation, including completion of questionnaires. People with movement symptoms or seizures have a symptoms evaluation. Some participants also undergo neuropsychological testing, including questionnaires, pen-and-paper or computerized tests, and motor tasks.
