A Single-arm, Open-label Feasibility Study for Assessing the Safety and Performance of the Modified AssiAnchor - cataracts

The AssiAnchor 2 is a fixation ophthalmic device. The device is manufactured by Hanita Lenses from PMMA material which is being used for the production of Intra-ocular lenses. The device is intended for patients requiring capsule centration to clip the anterior lens capsule between the arms of the device and secure it to the scleral wall.

Visual Outcomes of Functional Intraocular Lenses in Cataracts

Visual Outcomes of Different Types of Functional Intraocular Lenses in Cataract Patients

This is a prospective, multi-center, randomized comparative study. The purpose of the study is to evaluate and compare the objective and subjective visual outcomes of different types of functional intraocular lenses (IOLs) in patients.

Toric Intraocular Lens (IOL) Implantation for Management of Cataracts

Plate-haptic Toric Intraocular Lens (IOL) Implantation for Management of Cataracts

This study included cataract patients who underwent toric intraocular lens (IOL) implantation, which aimed to evaluate the stability and clinical visual quality of toric IOLs.

Genetic Diagnosis in Congenital Cataracts

Genetic Diagnosis and Phenotype-genotype Correlation in a Large Chinese Cohort of Congenital Cataracts

The prediction of genetic risk in congenital cataract patients has great clinical significance. In this trial, the investigators aim to screen the causative variants from 115 unrelated bilateral congenital cataract patients enrolled consecutively, describe novel and recurrent variants, analyze the factors affecting genetic diagnostic yield, and explore potential phenotype-genotype correlation.

Aromatherapy With Lavender as Anxiolysis Prior to Cataracts Surgery

Aromatherapy With Lavender as Anxiolysis Prior to Cataracts Surgery

The purpose of this study is to assess the validity of lavender aromatherapy as a method of anxiolysis prior to a cataract surgery, and to see if this effect will extend intraoperatively to minimize patients' intraoperative medication requirements. The study team plans on enrolling 186 participants. The investigator team hypothesizes that: 1. Participants will have a lower anxiety score after the intervention 2. Participants will require less intraoperative sedation medication compared to participants that did not have the lavender intervention. 3. A decrease in intraoperative medication requirements will lead to a faster discharge time

Visual Performance of Functional Intraocular Lenses in Cataracts

Visual Performance of Different Types of Functional Intraocular Lenses in Cataract Patients

This is a prospective, multi-center, randomized comparative study. The purpose of the study is to evaluate and compare the postoperative visual outcomes and quality of vision of two diffractive trifocal intraocular lenses (IOLs) in patients with high myopic cataracts.

Combined Capsular Tension Ring and IOL Implantation for Management of Cataracts

Combined Capsular Tension Ring and IOL Implantation for Management of Cataracts

This study included cataract patients who underwent intraocular lens (IOL) implantation with or without capsular tension ring (CTR), which aimed to evaluate the contribution of the use of CTR in clinical visual outcomes and rotational stability of IOL after cataract surgery.

Increased Risk of ADHD Among Children With Bilateral Congenital Cataracts

Increased Risk of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Among Children With Bilateral Congenital Cataracts

In this study, the investigators conducted a cross-sectional, face-to-face investigation to evaluate the behavioral and psychological disorders and the risk of ADHD among children with bilateral congenital cataracts using the Conners'Parent Rating Scale (CPRS) questionnaire, an assessment tool for screening ADHD that obtains parental reports of childhood behavioral problems in research and clinical settings.15-17 Age-matched children with normal vision and the Chinese urban norm were used as controls.

The Visual Plasticity During Adversity and Prosperity in Infants With Congenital Cataracts

The Susceptibility of Phenotypic Plasticity During Adversity and Prosperity in Infants With Visual Deprivation

Phenotypic plasticity is the ability of individuals to change their phenotypic status when exposed to environmental variations. However, whether the plastic changes show differential susceptibility in adversity and prosperity is debated and the specific pattern of plasticity remains elusive. Here the investigators address this question by tracking the phenotypes (functional, structural, physical, and attachment traits) in two groups of infants before and after visual deprivation: one group experienced a short duration of complete deprivation (extreme adversity) and the other group experienced a long durations of partial deprivation (watered-down adversity).

Dysfunctional Lens Index Serves as a Novel Surgery Decision Maker for Age-related Cataracts

Dysfunctional Lens Index Serves as a Novel Surgery Decision Maker for Age-related Cataracts

To study the correlations among the dysfunctional lens index (DLI), Lens Opacities Classification System III (LOCS III) nuclear opalescence grading score, preoperative corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA), the objective scatter index (OSI) and Scheimpflug based average lens density in age-related cataracts. To investigate the potential of the DLI as a novel surgery decision maker via the Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve analysis.
