Filter by:This is a non-randomized, phase II, open label study of radiotherapy concurrent with Apatinib Mesylate after surgery in patients with advanced head and neck soft tissue and bone sarcomas. The primary purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Apatinib Mesylate in patients with head and neck soft tissue and bone sarcomas.
Background: People cope with cancer in different ways. Mindfulness means focusing on the present moment with an open mind. Researchers want to see if this can help children and young adults with a high-grade high-risk cancer with poor prognosis. Objective: To learn if mindfulness is feasible and acceptable for children and young people with high-grade high-risk cancer with poor prognosis and their caregivers. Eligibility: Children ages 5-24 with a high-grade or high-risk cancer, with a caregiver who agrees to do the study Must have internet access (participants may borrow an iPod for the study) Must speak English Design: All participants will complete questionnaires. These will be about feelings, physical well-being, quality of life, and mindfulness. Researchers will review children's medical records. Participants will be randomly put in the mindfulness group or the standard care group. Participants in the standard care group will: Get general recommendations for coping with cancer Have check-in sessions 1 and 3 weeks after starting. These will last about 10 minutes each. After participants finish the standard care group, they may be able to enroll in the mindfulness group. Participants in the mindfulness group will: Attend an in-person mindfulness training session. The child participant will meet with one research team member for 90 minutes while the parent participant meets with another. Then they will come together for a half hour. Practice mindfulness exercises at least 4 days a week for 8 weeks. Be asked to respond to weekly emails or texts asking about their mindfulness practice Get a mindfulness kit with things to help them do their mindfulness activities at home. Have a 30-minute check-in with their coach 1 and 3 weeks after starting. This can be in person or by video chat. All participants (from both groups) will be asked to answer follow-up questions about 8 and 16 weeks after starting the study. Participants will be paid $20 for each set of questionnaires they complete to thank them for their time. ...
This study is designed to test the safety and efficacy of the combination of lenvatinib, a drug that can inhibit the growth of supplying vessels around the tumors, and eribulin, a chemotherapy drug that targets the cancer cell during mitosis, in inoperable or metastatic adipocytic sarcoma and leiomyosarcoma.
This phase II Pediatric MATCH trial studies how well palbociclib works in treating patients with Rb positive solid tumors, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, or histiocytic disorders with activating alterations (mutations) in cell cycle genes that have spread to other places in the body and have come back or do not respond to treatment. Palbociclib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the proteins needed for cell growth.
A clinical trial with biweekly regimen of gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel for Soft tissue sarcomas (STSs). A Promising antitumor activity in patients with metastatic STS has been reported with gemcitabine alone or in combination with taxanes including docetaxel and paclitaxel in pre-treated patients. Nab-paclitaxel is a 130-nm albumin-bound formulation of paclitaxel particles (Celgene, Summit, NJ) which was designed to eliminate the toxicities associated with Cremophor®-EL. Nab-paclitaxel at equal dose of paclitaxel showed increased antitumor activity, enhanced endothelial cell transport and 33% higher intra-tumor paclitaxel concentration in preclinical models of solid tumor xenografts promising an advantageous pharmacokinetic profile In sarcoma, nab-paclitaxel demonstrated preclinical anti-tumor activity in rhabdomyosarcoma xenograft model. Local relapsed tumors following paclitaxel treatment proved to be paclitaxel-resistant but remained responsive to nab-paclitaxel. These findings provide the rationale for further evaluation of nab-paclitaxel in combination with gemcitabine for soft tissue sarcoma treatment.
The main objective of the study is to assess the treatment situation of sarcoma patients in Germany and to investigate their potential influence on Quality of Life (and other Patient Reported Outcomes) of the affected persons. Impaired quality of life domains and factors associated with it are to be identified. To this end, a national network of sarcoma treatment specialists and a structure for patient recruitment will be established. This care network is intended to reflect the current situation of the treatment of sarcoma patients in Germany.
To assess if the CMB305 vaccine regimen may help the body's immune system to slow or stop the growth of synovial sarcoma tumor and improve survival.
Adolescents and young adults (AYA) patients experience significant distress in specific areas at diagnosis. The investigators hypothesize that providing developmentally-appropriate AYA-specific psychosocial care, with an individualized multi-disciplinary program will alleviate this distress, as well as improve health-related quality of life (HRQOL). The investigators' primary aim is to evaluate the impact of psychosocial interventions on HRQOL. The secondary aims are to firstly identify the types of psychosocial distress experienced and secondly, to assess the feasibility of implementing a psychosocial screening and intervention program amongst AYA patients newly diagnosed with cancer.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and preliminary antitumor activity of INCB059872 in participants with Ewing sarcoma who are refractory or relapsed from prior standard therapy and not eligible for further standard systemic therapy.
This trial is a multicentric study aiming to assess the evolution of the serum ifosfamide concentrations and its serum metabolites in patients treated for an Soft Tissue Sarcoma and co-exposed to Aprepitant. The study will be conducted on a population of patients treated with Doxorubicin and Ifosfamide. The Aprepitant can be prescribed to patients from cycle 2, according to the current recommendations. Doxorubicin, Ifosfamide and Aprepitant will be administered in the context of routine care. The follow-up during the treatment period and the clinical, biological and radiological assessments will be performed according to the standard of each centre. Patients will be followed during the two first cycles of treatment. For the pharmacokinetic study, blood samples will be collected at different time points during the 2 treatment cycles.
