Filter by:Double blind protocol treatment of 2/3 of the patients with omalizumab and 1/3 placebo administer for 4 months. Patients selected for the study must have both aspirin exacerbated respiratory disease and allergic asthma and rhinitis. They must also have completed aspirin desensitization and be taking aspirin on a daily basis for the treatment of AERD.
Many beneficial effects of vitamin E have been described, but vitamin E supplementation by mouth has not been effective in the treatment of nasal symptoms and allergic rhinitis. The investigators will evaluate the effect of vitamin E directly applied to the lining of the nose in individuals with moderate to severe rhinitis by symptom questionnaires.
We hypothesize that intranasal steroid application will have a beneficial therapeutic effect in adults with regard to resolution of SOM and/or NMEP as compared to placebo. We further hypothesize that the rate of spontaneous short-term resolution of OME in adults treated with placebo will be relatively low (minority of patients).
This is a Phase 3, single-dose, investigator-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, crossover study, conducted at a single site in Austria, outside of the normal grass pollen season. An allergic reaction will be induced by exposing subjects to grass pollen in the Vienna Challenge Chamber (VCC). Subjects will receive a single dose of each of the following treatments according to a randomization sequence: Phenylephrine 12 mg immediate-release capsule, pseudoephedrine 60 mg immediate-release tablet, and placebo capsule. There will be a minimum of a 5-day washout period between each treatment. Subjects will complete symptom evaluations throughout the study. The nasal decongestant effects of phenylephrine will be compared to those of placebo using the subjective symptom evaluations. The safety profile (adverse events and vital signs) of the treatments will also be evaluated.

Compare the efficacy and safety of an investigational nasal spray compared with placebo nasal spray in the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis. Allergic rhinitis is an inflammatory disorder of the upper airway that occurs following allergen exposure. The focus of this study, seasonal allergic rhinitis (SAR), is one type of allergic rhinitis that is triggered by the pollen from trees, grasses, and weeds. Commonly referred to as 'hay fever', it is characterized by sneezing, nasal congestion and pruritus, rhinorrhea, and pruritic, watery, red eyes.
Long term safety (52 weeks) of GW685698X on the nasal mucosa via nasal biopsy with an active control group (Nasonex®) and a healthy volunteers control group in subjects 18 years old with perennial allergic rhinitis . Allergic rhinitis is an inflammatory disorder of the upper airway that occurs following allergen exposure. Perennial allergic rhinitis is triggered by house dust mites, animal dander, etc., possibly causing symptoms year-round including nasal congestion, rhinorrhea and/or nasal itching.
