Start date: March 2008
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

An open-label study to assess the safety, efficacy, and tolerance of FCRx cell therapy in adult recipients within 12 months after kidney transplantation from a living donor.

NCT ID: NCT00497146 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Kidney Disease

The PRIMO Study: Paricalcitol Capsules Benefits Renal Failure Induced Cardiac Morbidity in Subjects With Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 3/4

PRIMO
Start date: February 2008
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

To evaluate the effects of paricalcitol capsules on cardiac structure and function over 48 weeks in patients with Stage 3/4 chronic kidney disease (CKD) who had left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH).

NCT ID: NCT00495365 Terminated - Anemia Clinical Trials

A Dose Conversion Study of Epoetin Alfa in Subjects With the Anemia of Chronic Kidney Disease.

Start date: June 2003
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study was to evaluate hemoglobin stability in subjects who had received darbepoetin alfa for a minimum of 3 months prior to study entry who were then converted to epoetin alfa at the same dosing frequency to maintain a hemoglobin level of 12 plus or minus 1 g/dL (range 11-13- g/dL).

NCT ID: NCT00493194 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Kidney Failure, Chronic

Fibrosis in Renal Allografts

Start date: May 2005
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This prospective, randomized study, comparing sirolimus to cyclosporine in renal transplant recipients, has two major objectives: 1. -To determine the incidence and the degree of interstitialfibrosis and arteriosclerosis, as wel as the glomerular volume in protocol biopsies at 6 months in sirolimus-and in cyclosporine-treated renal allograft recipients, by means of quantitative computerized image analysis. - To determine the prognostic implication of these morphologic changes. 2. To study the expression of genes, involved in inflammation and fibrosis, in protocol biopsies at 6 months in sirolimus-and cyclosporine-treated renal allograft recipients.

NCT ID: NCT00492362 Completed - Clinical trials for Kidney Failure, Chronic

Trial of Aerobic Exercise in Patients Undergoing Outpatient Hemodialysis

Start date: July 2007
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Randomized controlled trial comparing effects of ergometer exercise during hemodialysis to effects of pedometer use outside of hemodialysis on exercise capacity, functional status, quality of life and adequacy of hemodialysis.

NCT ID: NCT00484354 Completed - Clinical trials for Kidney Failure, Acute

Use of Bicarbonate to Reduce the Incidence of Acute Renal Failure After Cardiac Surgery

Start date: May 2006
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine if the incidence of acute renal failure (ARF) in high risk patients who undergo coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is reduced by treating patients in the perioperative period with intravenous (IV) sodium bicarbonate. Patients will be randomized in a 50:50 allocation to receive either IV sodium bicarbonate or IV normal saline. The volume of fluid given in each arm of the study is equal. All other interventions in those patients will be according to standard cardiothoracic anesthesia protocol at our institution.

NCT ID: NCT00483860 Completed - Solid Tumours Clinical Trials

A Phase I Topotecan Study in Subjects With Cancer and Impaired Renal Function

Start date: June 20, 2007
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

To determine the effect of renal impairment and prior platinum-based chemotherapy on the safety and blood levels of topotecan administered orally

NCT ID: NCT00483600 Withdrawn - Kidney Diseases Clinical Trials

Pharmacokinetic Study of Fondaparinux in Outpatients With Renal Dysfunction

Start date: August 2007
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

To determine the appropriate dose and safety of a preventative dose of fondaparinux, an anticoagulant medication (blood thinner) in patients with kidney disease.

NCT ID: NCT00483275 Withdrawn - Aged Clinical Trials

Fall Prevention by Alfacalcidol and Training

SPALT
Start date: June 2007
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Objective of the study is to evaluate the effect of a multimodal therapy on the basis of current guidelines on fall prevention consisting of a 12-months intervention with Alfacalcidol and calcium, patient education and a mobility program in a group of patients 65 years of age or older with an impaired renal function in comparison to a group receiving usual care.

NCT ID: NCT00482599 Completed - Anesthesia, General Clinical Trials
