Filter by:The aims of this post-marketing observational study (PMOS) are to evaluate the time period needed to achieve > 30% decrease of intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) compared to the initial values and to provide data on the tolerability and compliance of treatment with Zemplar (paricalcitol) capsules in the therapy of secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) stage 3 or 4 in conditions of routine clinical practice.
The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy and safety of intravenous iron isomaltoside 1000 with intravenous iron sucrose in patients suffering from Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease on Dialysis Therapy (CKD-5D).

Periodontal disease is a bacterially-induced inflammation. As such, it can become a point of entry of bacteria, toxins and cytokines into the systemic blood circulation, thus adversely affecting the function of kidneys. This is turn can aggravate the condition of patients with CKD. The study hypothesis is that periodontal therapy can improve renal function in patients with CKD and lower the blood levels of markers for systemic inflammation.
The purpose of this study is to assess the pharmakokinetic properties of higher doses (500 mg and 1000 mg) of Monofer® in patients suffering from Non-dialysis Dependent Chronic Kidney Disease.
This observational study will evaluate the course of treatment, the efficacy on anemia and the safety of Mircera (methoxy polyethylene glycol-epoetin beta) in patients with chronic kidney disease on dialysis. Eligible patients will be on either haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis and treatment-naïve for or having had prior therapy with erythropoiesis stimulating agents (ESA). Data will be collected from each patient for 12 months.

Aim 1: To assess whether quality of care for stage 3 chronic kidney disease can be substantially improved over 18 months by: - Point of care electronic alerts to primary care physicians recommending risk-appropriate care, and - Quarterly mailings to patients providing self management support materials, including tailored recommendations based on personalized data from an electronic disease registry Aim 2: To assess the relationship between utilization of the intervention components and primary care physician attitudes towards both chronic kidney disease management and electronic reminder systems.
