NCT ID: NCT01224782 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Kidney Disease

Evaluation of Treatment With Zemplar Capsules in the Therapy of Secondary Hyperparathyroidism (SHPT)

Start date: October 2010
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The aims of this post-marketing observational study (PMOS) are to evaluate the time period needed to achieve > 30% decrease of intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) compared to the initial values and to provide data on the tolerability and compliance of treatment with Zemplar (paricalcitol) capsules in the therapy of secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) stage 3 or 4 in conditions of routine clinical practice.

NCT ID: NCT01222884 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 5 (Dialysis Dependent)

A Randomized, Comparative, Open-label Study of IV Monofer® Administered as Maintenance Therapy by Single or Repeated Bolus Injections in Comparison With IV Iron Sucrose in Subjects With CKD-5D

Start date: June 2011
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy and safety of intravenous iron isomaltoside 1000 with intravenous iron sucrose in patients suffering from Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease on Dialysis Therapy (CKD-5D).

NCT ID: NCT01222234 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)

Impact of Vitamin D Therapies on Chronic Kidney Disease

Start date: October 2010
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This investigation will consist of a prospective study utilizing two separate populations of patients with 25(OH)D deficiency, one population with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and one with normal renal function.

NCT ID: NCT01219855 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Kidney Disease

Safety/Efficacy Study of CTAP101 in Chronic Kidney Disease Subjects With Secondary Hyperparathyroidism (SHPT)

Start date: October 2010
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study will investigate how the levels of a repeat dose of CTAP101 changes in the body over time (pharmacokinetics, PK) and how CTAP101 affects other mineral and hormonal balances (pharmacodynamics, PD) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD, vitamin D insufficiency and secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT).

NCT ID: NCT01219413 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Kidney Disease

Influence of Aliskiren on Proteinuria

ALIPRES
Start date: March 2009
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

To evaluate the proteinuria lowering efficacy as well as tolerability and safety of the renin inhibitor aliskiren compared with that of placebo and angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor perindopril in patients with non-diabetic chronic renal disease.

NCT ID: NCT01217281 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Kidney Disease

The Effect of Non-surgical Periodontal Treatment in the Renal Function of Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease: RCT

Start date: June 2010
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Periodontal disease is a bacterially-induced inflammation. As such, it can become a point of entry of bacteria, toxins and cytokines into the systemic blood circulation, thus adversely affecting the function of kidneys. This is turn can aggravate the condition of patients with CKD. The study hypothesis is that periodontal therapy can improve renal function in patients with CKD and lower the blood levels of markers for systemic inflammation.

NCT ID: NCT01213992 Completed - Clinical trials for Non-dialysis Dependent Chronic Kidney Disease

Open-label Pharmacokinetic Study of Iron Isomaltoside 1000 (Monofer®) Administered by 500 mg IV Bolus Injection or 1000 mg Intravenous to Patients With CKD

PK-CKD-03
Start date: March 2012
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to assess the pharmakokinetic properties of higher doses (500 mg and 1000 mg) of Monofer® in patients suffering from Non-dialysis Dependent Chronic Kidney Disease.

NCT ID: NCT01213485 Completed - Anemia Clinical Trials

An Observational Study of Mircera (Methoxy Polyethylene Glycol-Epoetin Beta) in Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease on Dialysis (HORTENSIA)

Start date: March 2010
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

This observational study will evaluate the course of treatment, the efficacy on anemia and the safety of Mircera (methoxy polyethylene glycol-epoetin beta) in patients with chronic kidney disease on dialysis. Eligible patients will be on either haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis and treatment-naïve for or having had prior therapy with erythropoiesis stimulating agents (ESA). Data will be collected from each patient for 12 months.

NCT ID: NCT01204528 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Kidney Disease

Vitamin-D Receptor Activation (VDRA) in Chronic Kidney Disease

SOLID
Start date: September 2010
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

To investigate whether treatment with a vitamin-D receptor activator is able to improve important markers of cardiovascular risk.

NCT ID: NCT01203813 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Kidney Disease

A Risk Based Approach to Improving Chronic Kidney Disease Management

Start date: May 2011
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Aim 1: To assess whether quality of care for stage 3 chronic kidney disease can be substantially improved over 18 months by: - Point of care electronic alerts to primary care physicians recommending risk-appropriate care, and - Quarterly mailings to patients providing self management support materials, including tailored recommendations based on personalized data from an electronic disease registry Aim 2: To assess the relationship between utilization of the intervention components and primary care physician attitudes towards both chronic kidney disease management and electronic reminder systems.
