Multicenter RCT of the Clinical Effectiveness of Oncothermia With Chemotherapy in Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer Patients

Patients with pancreatic cancer often suffer from pain. Because of such a pain, their quality of life have seriously deteriorated. There have been a few studies that showed an effect for pain control by hyperthermia (heating the patient's body). However, there are several limitations in conventional hyperthermia. In a previous pilot study (NCT02150135), we found the improvement of quality of life, function, and symptom. From this background, the investigators tried to show the effect of "Oncothermia" with conventional chemotherapy for pain control, increasing quality of life, and anti-tumor treatment.

Compassionate Single Subject Use of FG-3019 (FibroGen) in Locally Advanced, Unresectable Pancreatic Cancer

Single compassionate use subject is an 83 year old woman with a history of lymph node positive breast cancer and recently diagnosed pancreatic cancer in May. With an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) of 2, it is felt that she cannot tolerate more aggressive chemotherapy. The investigators propose to administer FG-3019 on a compassionate pleas basis in combination with gemzar. The patient is currently being treated and is tolerating gemzar.

HIPEC as Neoadjuvant Treatment for Resectable Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma

This single-center, prospective proof-of-concept study is designed to evaluate the surgical outcomes and clinicopathologic results of neoadjuvant hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) in conjunction with perioperative systemic chemotherapy (SCT; neoadjuvant and adjuvant) and pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) in a small cohort of patients having T1-T3 resectable pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) with one or more high-risk clinical features. The investigators hypothesize that HIPEC administered in this clinical course will reduce postoperative peritoneal disease recurrence. The investigators also expect that local recurrence of disease will be reduced. The primary aim of this study is to compare 2-year peritoneal disease-free survival between patients receiving the experimental therapy (neoadjuvant HIPEC + SCT + PD) with historical controls receiving standard therapy (SCT + PD). Secondary aims are to determine the clinical feasibility and outcomes of neoadjuvant HIPEC for resectable PDAC using patient demographics and disease characteristic data.

p53/p16-Independent Epigenetic Therapy With Oral Decitabine/Tetrahydrouridine for Pancreatic Cancer

Patients with pancreatic cancer which has stopped responding to one or more chemotherapy drugs are asked to take part in this study. The study hopes to find out whether decitabine, the drug being studied, will have an effect on pancreatic cancer. The decitabine is being given at a lower dose than its approved use. It is also being given with another drug, tetrahydrouridine (THU), to improve the exposure of your pancreatic cancer cells to decitabine. The purpose of this study is to determine if the drug combination of decitabine and tetrahydrouridine can recognize a certain DNA target in your cancer. All cells have DNA within them, and tumor cells have abnormal DNA.
