NCT ID: NCT01587534 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Pancreatic Enzyme Supplementation in Patients With Unresectable Pancreatic Cancer (PESUP)

Start date: October 2011
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The investigators planned a prospective, randomized, placebo controlled trial to test the hypothesis that weight loss in patients with unresectable pancreatic cancer with occlusion of the pancreatic duct can be reduced or prevented by pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy in combination with dietary counseling.

NCT ID: NCT01581307 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Phase II Trial Evaluating OS With Therasphere® + 2nd-Line FOLFOX in Pancreatic Liver Mets

Start date: April 2012
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and impact on survival with treatment with 90-Y glass microspheres in conjunction with leucovorin, 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and oxaliplatin (FOLFOX) as second-line treatment with in patients gemcitabine-refractory metastatic pancreatic cancer with predominantly liver metastases.

NCT ID: NCT01560949 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Preoperative Folfirinox, Radiation Therapy for Resectable Adenocarcinoma of the Pancreas

Start date: June 14, 2012
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical research study is to learn if a chemotherapy combination called modified Folfirinox (or mFolfirinox), followed by a combination of gemcitabine and radiation therapy, followed by surgery, can help to control pancreatic cancer. The safety of this treatment will also be studied. mFolfirinox consists of 5-FU, oxaliplatin, and irinotecan. These 3 drugs, along with gemcitabine, are each designed to block the growth of cancer cells, which may lead to cancer cell death.

NCT ID: NCT01553019 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Postoperative Proton Radiotherapy With Chemo for Pancreatic Cancer

PC03
Start date: October 2011
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to find out what effects, good and/or bad, proton radiation combined with chemotherapy has on resected pancreatic cancer.

NCT ID: NCT01542177 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

A Study Using 18F-FAZA and PET Scans to Study Hypoxia in Pancreatic Cancer

Start date: February 2012
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This is a diagnostic study to look for low levels of oxygen (hypoxia) in pancreatic cancer using an imaging test called positron emission tomography (PET). Hypoxia can influence how pancreatic cancer grows and responds to treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The use of PET scans to measure hypoxia may be better and simpler than the approaches used previously. This study will assess whether or not PET scans using a tracer called 18F-FAZA (18F-Fluoroazomycin Arabinoside) can provide useful information about hypoxia in pancreatic cancer. Also as part of the study, a blood sample will be taken to study biomarkers (substances in the body that may be important indicators of hypoxia and/or pancreatic cancer) that may be useful in studying pancreatic cancer and hypoxia.

NCT ID: NCT01523808 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Administration of GRASPA (Suspension of Erythrocytes Encapsulating L-asparaginase)in Patients With Pancreatic Cancer

Start date: November 2009
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The interest in using L-asparaginase in pancreatic cancer arose from in vitro and in vivo studies data showing an anti-neoplastic effect on pancreatic tumor cell lines. Interestingly, these studies suggest an additional effect of L-asparaginase associated to gemcitabine.GRASPA is a suspension of red blood cells encapsulating L-asparaginase. The aim of this phase I clinical trial is to evaluate the Maximum Tolerated Dose (MTD) of GRASPA on locally advanced or metastatic pancreatic tumors, after therapy failure of first or second line chemotherapy using gemcitabine.

NCT ID: NCT01523457 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Study of Modified FOLFIRINOX in Advanced Pancreatic Cancer

FOLFIRINOX
Start date: October 2011
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of this study was to determine the progression free survival in patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer and in patients with locally advanced unresectable non-metastatic pancreatic cancer treated with a dose-attenuated modification of folinic acid, fluorouracil, irinotecan, and oxaliplatin (FOLFIRINOX). Secondary endpoints included: determine objective response rate according to RECIST; determine overall survival; evaluate toxicity; determine rate of resection in locally advanced unresectable stratum; correlate time to progression, objective response, and overall survival with early changes in glucose metabolism using [18F]-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG)-positron emission tomography (PET) scanning.

NCT ID: NCT01521325 Completed - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

A Single-Dose Pilot Study of Radiolabeled Amatuximab (MORAb-009) in Mesothelin Over Expressing Cancers

Start date: September 2011
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This research is being conducted to determine the biodistribution of radiolabeled amatuximab in tumor and non-tumor tissues in subjects with mesothelin over expressing cancer including mesothelioma, pancreatic, ovarian or non small cell lung cancer.

NCT ID: NCT01505530 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

A Phase 2 Study of LY2495655 in Participants With Pancreatic Cancer

Start date: December 2011
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase 2 study is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in participants with locally advanced/inoperable or metastatic pancreatic cancer, and will investigate 2 different doses of LY2495655 in combination with standard of care chemotherapy.

NCT ID: NCT01505413 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Phase 2 Study of Erlotinib, Gemcitabine and Oxaliplatin Combination Chemotherapy to Advanced Pancreatic Cancer

GEMOX-T
Start date: January 2011
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Erlotinib is an orally available, reversible tyrosine kinase inhibitor of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). Association of chemoresistance with the activity of certain tyrosine kinases (e.g. ErbB-1 and Src) has been described for pancreatic cancer and makes a strong case for combining gemcitabine with tyrosine kinase inhibitors. In a phase III trial, the addition of erlotinib to gemcitabine improved survival compared with gemcitabine alone in advanced pancreatic cancer (MJ Moor et al). Also, gemcitabine in combination with oxaliplatin is superior to gemcitabine alone in terms of progression free survival and response rate in one phase III trial (Louvet et al). Taken together, combining erlotinib with gemcitabine and oxaliplatin may further improve the overall survival and clinical benefit of advanced pancreatic cancer.
