NCT ID: NCT00003157 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Radiation Therapy and Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Cancer of the Pancreas or Stomach

Start date: February 1998
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Combining radiation therapy with chemotherapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of radiation therapy plus chemotherapy in treating patients who have cancer of the pancreas or stomach.

NCT ID: NCT00003125 Completed - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Vaccine Therapy, Interleukin-2, and Sargramostim in Treating Patients With Advanced Tumors

Start date: January 1998
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Vaccines may make the body build an immune response to kill tumor cells. Colony-stimulating factors such as sargramostim may increase the number of immune cells. Interleukin-2 may stimulate a person's white blood cells to kill cancer cells. Combining vaccine therapy, sargramostim, and interleukin-2 may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: Randomized phase II trial to study the effectiveness of vaccine therapy, sargramostim, and interleukin-2 in treating patients who have advanced tumors.

NCT ID: NCT00003085 Terminated - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Laparoscopic Ultrasound in Diagnosing Patients With Pancreatic Cancer

Start date: September 1996
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: New diagnostic procedures, such as laparoscopic ultrasound, may improve the ability to detect pancreatic cancer and determine the extent of disease. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of laparoscopic ultrasound in diagnosing patients with stage I or stage II pancreatic cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00003049 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Surgery Followed by Radiation Therapy and Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Cancer of the Pancreas

Start date: May 1997
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Surgery to remove the pancreas, some of the small intestine, and lymph nodes may be more effective treatment for cancer of the pancreas than surgery to remove the pancreas and some of the small intestine alone. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy may be an effective treatment for cancer of the pancreas. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of surgery to remove the pancreas and a portion of the small intestine with or without removing lymph nodes, followed by radiation therapy and chemotherapy, in treating patients with cancer of the pancreas.

NCT ID: NCT00003046 Completed - Colorectal Cancer Clinical Trials

Interleukin-12 in Treating Patients With Cancer in the Abdomen

Start date: August 1997
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Interleukin-12 may kill tumor cells by stimulating a person's white blood cells to kill cancer cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of interleukin-12 in treating patients with cancer in the abdomen.

NCT ID: NCT00003029 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Fluorouracil With or Without Cisplatin in Treating Patients With Advanced or Metastatic Cancer of the Pancreas

Start date: May 1997
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug and giving drugs in different ways may kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known whether fluorouracil plus cisplatin are more effective than fluorouracil alone in treating patients with metastatic cancer of the pancreas. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of fluorouracil with or without cisplatin in treating patients who have advanced or metastatic cancer of the pancreas.

NCT ID: NCT00003025 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Vaccine Therapy in Treating Patients With Stage I or Stage II Pancreatic Cancer

Start date: March 1997
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Vaccines made from a person's cancer cells may make the body build an immune response to and kill tumor cells. Combining vaccine therapy with surgery may be an effective treatment for pancreatic cancer. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of vaccine therapy in treating patients with stage I or stage II pancreatic cancer that has been surgically removed.

NCT ID: NCT00003018 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

S9700 Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Stage II or Stage III Pancreatic Cancer

Start date: September 1997
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. Chemotherapy following surgery may be an effective treatment for pancreatic cancer. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy in treating patients with stage II or stage III pancreatic cancer that has not been surgically removed.

NCT ID: NCT00002955 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Advanced Cancer of the Pancreas

Start date: August 1995
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy in treating patients with advanced cancer of the pancreas.

NCT ID: NCT00002773 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Vaccine Therapy, Chemotherapy, and GM-CSF in Treating Patients With Advanced Pancreatic Cancer

Start date: May 1996
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Vaccines made from donated tumor cells treated with interferon alfa may make the body build an immune response to and kill pancreatic tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Colony-stimulating factors may help a person's immune system recover from the side effects of chemotherapy. Combining these treatments may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combining vaccine therapy using donated tumor cells treated with interferon alfa and radiation therapy and cyclophosphamide plus GM-CSF in treating patients with advanced pancreatic cancer.
