NCT ID: NCT00327925 Recruiting - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

Blood Test for Ovarian Cancer Associated Antibodies (CAAb)

Start date: July 2006
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Blood is collected from patients and cultured in a CimTube (a test tube with stimulation media) for several days. Following the culture step, the supernatant fluid is tested for the presence of CAAb on experimental test kits. Null Hypothesis: There is no relationship between the presence or absence of ovarian cancer (OC) and the CAAb i.e. d=0. Alternative Hypothesis: The expectation of the CAAb in the cancer population differs from that of the control population, i.e. m1 is not equal to m2. Since the sign of the difference is not important, the test will be two-sided.

NCT ID: NCT00326456 Active, not recruiting - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

MITO-2: A Study Comparing 2 Chemotherapy Regimens (Carboplatin/Liposomal Doxorubicin vs Carboplatin/Paclitaxel) in Patients With Ovarian Cancer

Start date: January 1, 2003
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness (progression free survival) of the experimental combination of carboplatin + liposomal doxorubicin with the standard combination of carboplatin + paclitaxel in first line treatment of patients with ovarian cancer. Secondary objectives are to evaluate overall survival, quality of life, objective response rate, and toxicity.

NCT ID: NCT00325494 Completed - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

A Study of MORAb-009 in Subjects With Pancreatic Cancer, Mesothelioma, or Certain Types of Ovarian or Lung Cancer

Start date: May 2006
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to establish the safest doses of an investigational drug called MORAb-009 in subjects with pancreatic cancer, mesothelioma, or certain types of ovarian or lung cancer. MORAb-009 is a monoclonal antibody that is directed to an antigen on the surface of these cancers.

NCT ID: NCT00324324 Terminated - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Moxifloxacin in Preventing Bacterial Infections in Patients Who Have Undergone Donor Stem Cell Transplant

Start date: May 2006
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: A donor stem cell transplant can lower the body's immune system, making it difficult to fight off infection. Giving antibiotics, such as moxifloxacin, may help prevent bacterial infections in patients who have recently undergone donor stem cell transplant. It is not yet known whether moxifloxacin is more effective than a placebo in preventing bacterial infections in patients who have recently undergone donor stem cell transplant. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying moxifloxacin to see how well it works compared with a placebo in preventing bacterial infections in patients who have recently undergone donor stem cell transplant.

NCT ID: NCT00323726 Withdrawn - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

Trends in Incidence and Survivals for Ovarian Germ Cell Tumors: A 27-Year Population-Based Study

Start date: December 2005
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Trends in Incidence and Survivals for Ovarian Germ Cell Tumors: A 27-Year Population-Based Study

NCT ID: NCT00322881 Terminated - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

Carboplatin and Paclitaxel in Elderly Women With Newly Diagnosed Ovarian, Peritoneal, or Fallopian Cancer

Start date: April 2006
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The main purpose of this trial is to look at how elderly women (70 years of age or older) with newly diagnosed ovarian, peritoneal, or fallopian tube cancer manage six cycles of carboplatin and paclitaxel, what side effects they experience, and how their cancer reacts or responds to standard carboplatin and paclitaxel chemotherapy.

NCT ID: NCT00321932 Completed - Lymphoma Clinical Trials

Zoledronic Acid in Preventing Osteoporosis in Patients Undergoing Donor Stem Cell Transplant

Start date: July 2005
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Zoledronic acid, vitamin D, and calcium may prevent bone loss in patients who are undergoing donor stem cell transplant. PURPOSE: This randomized phase II trial is studying how well zoledronic acid works in preventing osteoporosis in patients undergoing donor stem cell transplant.

NCT ID: NCT00319748 Completed - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Study of Immune Response Modifier in the Treatment of Breast, Ovarian, Endometrial and Cervical Cancers

Start date: April 2006
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the anti-tumor activity of 852A when used to treat metastatic breast, ovarian, endometrial or cervical cancer not responding to standard treatment.

NCT ID: NCT00318370 Completed - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

Effectiveness of MORAb-003 in Women With Ovarian Cancer Who Have Relapsed After Platinum-Based Chemotherapy

Start date: May 2006
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine if an investigational drug called MORAb-003 is useful by itself or when used with other approved cancer drugs in treating women with ovarian cancer. MORAb-003 is a monoclonal antibody directed against an antigen on most ovarian cancers.

NCT ID: NCT00317772 Completed - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

Topotecan and Gefitinib (Iressa) for Ovarian, Peritoneal, or Fallopian Tube Cancer

Start date: September 2, 2004
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purposes of this study are: 1. To determine the dose limiting toxicity (DLT) and the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) weekly of topotecan in combination with standard dose gefitinib in patients with relapsed, platinum-resistant, ovarian, peritoneal or fallopian tube cancers that are epidermal growth factor receptor (EGF-R) positive (>/= 1+). 2. To determine the response rate and response duration in this patient population treated with the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of topotecan administered on a weekly schedule in combination with standard dose gefitinib, given by way of the mouth (PO) daily.
