Outcomes After Secondary Cytoreductive Surgery With or Without Carboplatin Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) Followed by Systemic Combination Chemotherapy for Recurrent Platinum-Sensitive Ovarian, Fallopian Tube, or Primary Peritoneal Cancer

The purpose of this study is to see if the investigators can improve the treatment of this type of cancer. They want to find out what effects, good and/or bad, giving heated chemotherapy into the belly, known as hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC), has on the patient and this type of cancer. The goal of HIPEC is to expose any cancer left in the abdomen after surgery to high doses of chemotherapy. The chemotherapy is heated in the hope that this will make it easier for it to get into and kill the cancer cells. The drug used for HIPEC will be carboplatin, a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved drug for use in ovarian, fallopian tube or primary peritoneal cancer.

18F-CP18 Imaging Studies for Cancer Treatment With Birinapant

Background: - 18F-CP18 is a chemical designed for use in imaging studies. It is attracted to tumor cells that are being killed by cancer treatment. Researchers want to test it in imaging studies for people who are being treated with Birinapant. Birinapant is a drug used to treat advanced ovarian, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancers. It works kills tumor cells that have not responded to earlier treatment. 18F-CP18 may help to monitor cancer treatments with this drug. Objectives: - To test the effectiveness of 18F-CP18 imaging studies during cancer treatment with Birinapant. Eligibility: - Individuals at least 18 years of age who are taking Birinapant for ovarian, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer. Design: - Participants will have a brief physical exam. They will also answer questions about their medical history and any current medications. - Participants will receive a dose of 18F-CP18, followed by an imaging study. The study will involve a positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) scan. The scan will last 40 minutes. - There will be two more PET/CT scans 1 hour and 2 hours after taking 18F-CP18. These scans will look at how the tumor cells absorb and process 18F-CP18. - This is a scanning study only. No treatment will be provided as part of this study.

Cabazitaxel in Platinum Refractory Ovarian Cancer

Ovarian cancer patients are considered platinum refractory if their disease worsens during primary platinum treatment or if they have no effect of the treatment. This constitutes a major therapeutic problem and new treatment approaches are highly needed. Cabazitaxel (Jevtana®) is a new taxane with effect in breast and prostatic cancer. In both tumors it has effect in patients refractory to taxotere. Consequently, it could be anticipated that cabazitaxel may have an effect in platinum refractory ovarian cancer.

Vitamin D for Women at Increased Risk of Developing Ovarian, Fallopian, or Primary Peritoneal Cancer

The purpose of this research is to study Vitamin D3 replacement for patients at high risk of developing ovarian, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer, and see if the Vitamin D3 replacement may be able to prevent the cancer. This study is being done because in the United States ovarian cancer is the leading cause of death among women with gynecologic cancer. Women with BRCA mutations, a personal history of breast cancer, and a family history of breast and ovarian cancer are at high risk of developing ovarian, fallopian, and primary peritoneal cancer. Novel treatments other than surgery which can decrease the risk of developing ovarian, fallopian tube, and primary peritoneal cancer are important. Vitamin D has been shown to reduce the risk of developing bladder, breast, colon, endometrial, esophageal, gallbladder, gastric, lung, pancreatic, prostate, rectal, renal, vulvar and Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and it may play a role in the prevention of ovarian cancer.

A Study of Bevacizumab (Avastin) in Neoadjuvant Therapy in Participants With International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) Stage IIIC/IV Ovarian, Tubal, or Peritoneal Cancer, Initially Unresectable

This randomized, open-label study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of neoadjuvant bevacizumab in participants with initially unresectable, FIGO stage IIIC/IV ovarian, tubal, or peritoneal cancer. Participants will be randomized to receive 8 cycles of carboplatin plus paclitaxel with or without bevacizumab before surgery (interval debulking surgery [IDS]). Surgery will be scheduled 28 days after the last course of neoadjuvant treatment in participants with resectable cancer. Participants with unresectable cancer will go through the follow-up period. All participants will receive bevacizumab for Cycles 6 to 26.

Elecsys HE4 Chinese Reference Value Study

Aim of this study is to provide specimens for establishing reference values of HE4 in an apparently healthy Chinese population using the Roche Elecsys HE4 assay tested on variety of Elecsys and cobas brand immunoassay analyzers. This reference range will be compared to population of subjects who have signs and symptoms of various benign and malignant diseases, including ovarian cancer. This reference range will also be compared to the levels of HE4 in individual subjects who have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and are being followed longitudinally for recurrence or progression of their disease.

Sentinel Node Detection in Clinical Early Stage Ovarian Cancer

As most cancers, ovarian cancer also spreads to regional lymph nodes. The concept of sentinel lymph node surgery is to see whether the cancer has spread to the very first lymph node or sentinel node (SN). If the sentinel node does not contain cancer, there is a high likelihood that the cancer has not spread to other lymph nodes. This means that, at least theoretically, a radical lymphadenectomy could be omitted and thus the associated morbidity. The sentinel node technique has been proven to be effective in different cancers such as breast cancer and malignant melanoma. In gynaecological tumors it has been shown to be effective in vulvar cancer. Currently sentinel node studies are done for cervix and uterine cancer. The present study determines whether or not a sentinel node procedure in patients with ovarian cancer is feasible when the tracers are injected in the ovarian ligaments.

A Crossover Bioequivalence Study of Intravenously Administered ATI0918 and DOXIL/CAELYX in Patients With Ovarian Cancer

The purpose of this study is to find the answers to the following research question(s): 1. Is the study drug equivalent to the approved drug, Doxil/Caelyx, and does it act the same way in the body as the approved drug? ATI-0918 is believed to be a generic of Doxil/Caelyx and this is what the study is trying to prove. All people who participate in this study will receive the research study medication (ATI-0918) and Doxil/Caelyx in addition to best supportive care (treatment for symptoms). The study drug being tested in this study works the same as the FDA (government) approved drug doxorubicin HCl. ATI-0918 is a generic (the same) formulation of doxorubicin HCl being delivered (given to the patient).
