NCT ID: NCT05462977 Completed - Depression Clinical Trials

Rhythmically Entrained Exercise in Community-Dwelling Older Adults

REECO
Start date: May 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Researchers at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro conduct a single-arm intervention trial to investigate the efficacy of a music-based group exercise program for community-dwelling older adults. Up to forty participants will be recruited to participate in a music-based light-to-moderate intensity group exercise program for 20 weeks (30 - 40 min/day, up to 6 days/week), which is designed for older adults with or without functional limitations to exercise with chairs for the improvement of aerobic capacity, upper and lower body strength, and balance control at a gradually increasing pace. During the exercise sessions, participants will be trained to move in time with music playlists in synchronous tempos. Primary outcomes are cognitive performance, mobility, and health-related quality of life measured before and after the intervention. Secondary outcomes are adherence to the exercise program as a potential mediator of the treatment.

NCT ID: NCT04261231 Completed - Clinical trials for Outcome Assessment, Health Care

Correlation of the "Preliminary Universal Surgical Invasiveness Score" (pUSIS) With Short Term Post-operative Clinical Outcome Parameters. An Observational Study

pUSISoutcome
Start date: November 1, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The scope of this investigation is to demonstrate that the pUSIS values correlate closely with short term post-operative clinical outcome parameters, thus making this scoring system a good predictor for the patients' postoperative course and may become a helpful instrument for decision making concerning the choice of postoperative surveillance and treatment. The obtained follow up results were subjected to correlation analyzis with the pUSIS values in order to determine their association and if possible to recognize threshold values that may indicate a suitable type/intensity of postoperative surveillance.

NCT ID: NCT03338725 Completed - Clinical trials for Drug-Related Side Effects and Adverse Reactions

Effect and Associated Factors of the Clinical Pharmacy Model in the Incidence of Medical Errors

EACPharModel
Start date: February 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Medication errors are considered by WHO to be a subject that requires attention at all levels of care, in order to reduce the serious and preventable damage related to medication. These strategies are aimed at the patient's safety policy. In Colombia, at the regulatory level there is no standardized clinical pharmacy model where the role of the clinical pharmacist is described extensively and in detail, and in addition, data are unknown of the scope or direct effect of the incorporation of this model in the assistance in the results of health care. The Hospital Pablo Tobón Uribe, it is a highly complex institution in Medellin (Colombia), certified by Join Comission International (JCI), which requires the continuous interaction of the pharmacist in patient care, in order to avoid medication errors and contribute to patient safety indicators. In this sense, the hospital structured and implemented a clinical pharmacy model that establishes the activities of the pharmacist incorporated into the care team in the patient attention. Today this model is applied in the institution, however, it is necessary to know the effect of its application in the solution of drug-related problems (DRPs) or a negative outcome related to medicine. The objective of this study is to know the effect on patient safety of a clinical pharmacy model in a hospital of high complexity and framed in the WHO initiative to reduce these errors of medication.

NCT ID: NCT01225692 Completed - Clinical trials for Craniocerebral Trauma

Brain Trauma Outcomes in Nova Scotia Study

BTOS
Start date: February 2004
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goals of this study are to identify outcome indicators of optimal care for brain injury patients, including pre-hospital care, prompt delivery to neurosurgical care and access to early rehabilitation services. Nova Scotia's centralized Neurosurgical services and integrated provincial Emergency Health Services provide a rich opportunity to construct a cohesive, integrated data management system. This system will allow us to answer important research questions related to the outcomes, care and prevention of brain trauma. Retrospective data collection The retrospective arm of the BTO study has created full data sets and care pathways from multiple sources covering the continuum of brain trauma care. Investigators continue to analyze this large amount of data and prepare it for publication. Prospective data Collection Patients with a major head injury (initial GCS 3-12), have been considered for enrollment in the BTO study. The prospective arm of the BTO study has 52 patients enrolled. Screening and Enrollment was complete on June 30, 2007. These patients are participating in long term follow up at 6, 12 and 24 months post injury for assessment of qualitative and quantitative outcomes. Completion of patient follow up will be in June 2009.
