Fecal Microbiota Therapy Versus Standard Therapy in Decompensated NASH Related Cirrhosis: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

The study will be conducted in the Department of Hepatology, Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences, New Delhi. As a part of this study history will be taken and clinical examination will be done. Subjects will be screened for diagnosis of NASH (Non Alcoholic Steatohepatitis) cirrhosis. If subjects are found to have NASH (Non Alcoholic Steatohepatitis) cirrhosis, they will be chosen to receive stool from healthy donor, which is voluntarily donated by a healthy donor related or unrelated to the subjects and the stool will be prepared using standard guidelines. The prepared sample of stool, about 50 ml will be instilled into proximal small intestine by way of a thin and soft tube inserted through nose. This administration of sample, 50 ml daily will occur once a month every month for 6 months. The liver function parameters will be assessed and thereafter at 1 month and 3 months & subjects will be clinically assessed for improvement or worsening.

Study of SXL01 in Patients With Metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer (PROSTIRNA)

This is a single site, open-label, non-randomized, dose escalation phase I study designed to evaluate the safety, the tolerability and the Recommended Phase II Dose (RP2D) of SXL01, a synthetic small interfering ribonucleic acid (RNA) targeting the androgen receptor messenger RNA (mRNA), in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. A standard method "3+3" will be used for dose escalation. A maximum of 30 patients will complete the dose-escalation phase of the study; 12 additional patients will be included at the RP2D in the expansion phase.

he postpartum period is vulnerable to dysfunction of the pelvic floor musculature, which is associated with incontinence, pain, reduced stability of the core and functional deficits. The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada recommends instruction on the correct performance of pelvic floor muscle exercises, commonly known as Kegels, as standard care. However, only a small proportion of women seek medical care for incontinence in Canada. Recently, there has been an influx of mobile Health technology applications marketed for pelvic floor restoration and fitness that have not been studied. The existence of mHealth technologies may represent an innovative mode to support pelvic health, however systematic exploration to substantiate claims and proposed benefit is required. This pilot study aims to understand the utility of a new mobile health application, iball, as a rehabilitation tool to promote optimal pelvic floor function and to correct pregnancy related pelvic floor dysfunction. The iball is comprised of a device and a mobile app, and it has been brought to market in Europe as a consumer product. The study aims to assess the acceptability, feasibility, and effectiveness of the iball as a pelvic floor muscle training intervention, in comparison to standard care.

The non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is increasing and associated with obesity, diabetes and hyperlipidemia in recent years. Aerobic exercise indeed reduces adipose, hepatic insulin resistance and hepatic fat. However, diaphragmatic breathing improves cardiopulmonary function, the oxygen content of the body and therefore reduces inflammation of cells. The aim of this study is to ameliorate hepatic inflammation by using diaphragmatic breathing exercises instead of aerobic exercise to reduce the fat in liver inflammation.

Volasertib and Vincristine Sulfate Liposome in Treating Patients With Relapsed or Refractory Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

The main purpose of this investigational research study is to determine how safe and tolerable the study drug volasertib is in combination with liposomal vincristine (Marqibo; an FDA-approved drug) in patients with relapsed/refractory acute lymphoblastic leukemia. While VSLI demonstrated an overall response rate of 35% in Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) patients that had failed to respond to or relapsed after chemotherapy, combining it with other agents may increase clinical benefit. Volasertib inhibits proteins involved in the cell cycle that are increased in ALL. When volasertib inhibits these proteins ALL cells die. In the laboratory, volasertib has been shown to increase activity of vincristine against ALL cells. Therefore, we think the combination of volasertib and VSLI will be more effective against your leukemia than either drug used alone. This study will try to find out what effects, good and/or bad, this drug combination has on the patient and their cancer, and to find a dose that may be used in future studies.

Ferumoxytol-Enhanced MRI in Imaging Lymph Nodes in Patients With Stage IIB-IIIC Esophageal Cancer

This pilot clinical trial studies how well ferumoxytol-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) works in imaging lymph nodes in patients with stage IIB-IIIC esophageal cancer. Ferumoxytol is a form of very small iron particles that are taken up by cells in normal lymph nodes and may work better in imaging patients with esophageal cancer when paired with MRI.
